(( A Playlist put together by Azerik for this event, if you feel like listening to something while you post)) It looked to be an average day within karakura. Citizens went about their busy lives without a thought of the things going on around them; of the invisible battles fought between the spirits of the world…of the war that had been raging around them for nearly a year. The arrancar, deadly creatures as they were, had been battling both the shinigami and the spiritually aware humans to a stand still; but it was here today, in one of the busiest districts of karakura, that the war between shinigami and hollow would enter its final battle. And to the people who were ignorant to this war; they had only chaos to look forward to on this day. Slowly as it got closer to the afternoon, the sky seemed to darken, the sun was blotted out. The sky would grow darker and darker, and those who could sense the power of reiatsu would feel it begin to spike in the air around them. Their hairs would stand on end as the dark energy seemed to consume the area; the energy was at its highest right above the large buildings. It was there, that several holes in space began to open up…gargantua’s. Soon the sky was nearly consumed by these tears in space, and the sounds of growling and roaring would be clearly heard to those who could sense these creatures; the distinct reiatsu hollow gave off would fill their senses. Hollows would soon begin to exit the portals, weak ones at first, but stronger ones would start to leave into the human realm. Without wasting any time, these more unintelligent creatures would land upon the ground and attack the humans that were close to them; attacking and feeding without a care in the world. But this was just the beginning…even stronger beings were felt further in the portals. …The espada. The war was about to reach its climax. ((Note to those who join. We are issuing that if you join this thread, you must post at least ONCE EVERY 48 HOURS. If you fail to post in that time, we won’t boot you, but we will make a post for your character so that we do not get held back in posting order. There is bound to be a lot of people posting in this so remember posting order and remember to post as soon as you can. With that in mind, Espada may now join this thread, followed by humans and shinigami. I may post now and then as NPC hollow or Shini, but my mod account is not factored in to posting order for the most part unless said otherwise))

From one of the massive Gargantua’s in the sky Rose delicately exited from the portal, floating above the massive city that filled her “sight” with the array of colors of reiatsu from each building and person. It was overwhelming at first, but she waited patiently above the weak hollow that attacked while she readjusted her reiatsu-based vision. This place, the human realm, was very beautiful to her. The colors and feeling in the air removed any feeling of being alone, and when her fellow espada joined her into the human realm it only further complimented that feeling.
Karzan had given his orders, the last invasion, where the espada would finally end this war with the shinigami; when they would finally stand at the top. Rose believed heavily in her Lord, and followed his orders unquestioningly. She would fight, and defeat any person that would pose a threat to the espada; as Karzan had ordered. In the back of her mind, however, she did worry for Kyoshin. She worried that his fights with Karzan may affect his abilities to lead during this important battle in their history. This was his chance though; his chance to see that Karzan had been right all along, that his faith in their leader would not be misplaced. They would win, and he would lead them to even greater things. Their family would never be broken again.
That was why Rose needed to be at her best. She could not hold the espada back; Rose would need to fight with everything she had to insure that she did not fail. With determination in her grip she placed her hand upon her sword and pulled it from its sheath, holding it high above her head; as if to call out to her fellow espada to enter the battle with her. Its golden blade glistened against the back drop of the gargantua’s.
“For Lord Karzan,” She quietly spoke to herself, “For my family.” Her white hair floated carefully down onto her shoulders as she lowered her bandaged head towards the streets bellow. Lifting her free hand, she swung it forward sending out another small group of hollows down into the streets bellow. It was her attempt to bring out those who could fight…while she did not like harming those she did not have to; these people were her enemies…and for the espada she would show no mercy.

One of the Gargantas issued forth numerous Hollow, chattering away as they swarmed out of the spatial crevice to wreak havoc upon the unsuspecting humans below. Even though most of them had no idea the hollows were there, they would soon find themselves pressured between an unseen force, before being flung through the air. The mass hysteria caused by the particular Hollow from the one Garganta was soon met by the arrival of one of the more humanoid individuals steeping out of the spatial tear, who seemed to be out of place in this weird spurt of fiendish creatures that seemed to have been pulled straight out of a child's nightmare.
Inhaling deeply, the human figure, garbed in white, took in the change of air. Despite him being from the spiritually rich plane of Hueco Mundo, where these monsters called home, the Human World wasn't nearly as heavy, making his lungs soon fill with the lighter air, as his silver irises gazed over the hysteria. His silver, almost white hair hung over his face as he took in the surroundings, the sounds of screaming and yelling quickly filling his ears, as a grin broke out across the humanoids' fair facial features, stretching from one side of his face to the other. He was clearly enjoying the sight, perhaps the sound more of the discord that had begun and he made no efforts to conceal this fact. The sounds themselves were a symphony to him. Everything, from mere screams to the squealing of car tires across the pavement, played together in a most sensational display of resonance that to this individual in particular, sent a feeling of ecstasy through his core. For one to properly enjoy themselves, they had to take in the sounds of the scenery around them. Even though he himself was part of this invasion, Sven could not enjoy himself unless there was music, even if he had to make his own.
The strange man so obsessed with sound was among the monsters which crawled beneath him, the cutoff white hakama flapping with the wind as the numeral four blazed across his chest, signifying his rank amidst these masked creatures. Though he no longer possessed a mask like them, he was still among them. He was the Cuarta Espada, Sven Sutoikku of the Arrancar and he was determined to make that name known to his enemies. This was but the first step.

As the espada began to arrive with their hollow underlings, they would perhaps be surprised to see a few senkaimon opening around the city of karakura. Despite the attack having just started and only some of the espada arriving, it seemed the shinigami were already on their way to the battle. It was like they were...prepared for this invasion.
"Just like Captain Ryuuza said," A shingami announced to the others as he exited the portal, his appearance clearly being an unseated member of the squads. "The human boy was right; The arrancar are making a major push. Everyone, prepare yourselves. These aren't just regular hollow...these are espada." The shingami warned the others as he removed his zanpakuto from his side. Soon several shinigami would leap out from the senkaimons being opened, engaging the nearby hollow that were attacking the humans.
"Remember, protect the humans at all cost." Another declared as she exited her portal. Just as Rose had thought, her attacks brought her enemies out of hiding, but it seems they were more prepared than she would have thought. The invasion's final battle was ready to begin.
((Shinigami AND humans may join the event now. You do NOT need to make a portal thread to join. For shinigami, be under the assumption that Nonko gave the okay for all shinigami to engage, regardless of division.))

"Bare your fang Summassuyochi!" Azerik shouted as he leaped out of the senkaimon, his sword changing shape as he did so. He knew from experience it would be wise to use his Shikai throughout this entire fight...he'd end up dead otherwise.
Landing on a nearby building, Azerik sent a blast of concussive air toward a lone Hollow, before leaping at it and cleaving it in half, before moving to the next, and knocking it away from a plus soul that was caught in the chaos. "There's gonna be a lot of work to do after this battle..."

Takehiko burst out of the Senkaimon with Shunpo, and took out a largeer than average Gillian with a single slice. Behind him trailed fellow 11th Division members, comrades that had followed him into battle before despite his low rank. "Be swift with your sword friends," Take said as he killed another Hollow with apparent ease, "this isn't the same as a routine patrol."

His eyes lidded as if in boredom as the battle raged below him, Kyoshin Agotar stepped out of his own Garganta, placed above the others to he could view the clash from above. He sighed, watching the senseless violence with disinterest, his hands tucked into his hakama. Really, Karzan... All of this, for what?
As the Lord of the Deep himself had opted to stay out of the main conflict, Kyoshin had been placed in charge of the battle, a battle that the Second in Command remained ambivalent towards. Sure, losing was out of the question. His pride wouldn't let him throw a fight, or let anyone think he was weaker than he was. But he didn't exactly want to win this, either. If the Espada actually succeeded in Karzan's plan to wipe out the Shinigami... The world would die. Shinigami kept souls moving through the cycle of life, and if they were eradicated, humans would soon die out as well, which would eventually spell doom for the Hollows that fed off of human life. In the end, all that was left would be the Espada, the strongest of the strong, and they couldn't last forever on their own... Kyoshin didn't want to. There may not be any meaning to this world, but somehow he couldn't bring himself to end it like this, not yet, anyway.
And yet, fight was all he could do. Surveying the field with his refined Pesquisa, the young Arrancar quickly picked out the two strongest Shinigami, then with a short, precise wave of his hand, two creatures shot out of the darkness behind him, Karzan's personal Adjuchas Menos. The hulking beasts roared thunderously as they shot off Cero blasts indiscriminately, killing many Shinigami and even a few Hollows in the process. At Kyoshin's previous command, the two Menos each landed, one before Azerik Zaraki and one a few yards off of Takehiko Rokujo. The one in front of Azerik wasted no time in taking a swing with it's left 'arm', a long, bony, blade-like appendage in an attempt to decapitate the 12th Division member, before following up with a low kick intended to trip Azerik as he was dodging.
The Adjuchas near Takehiko, a lumbering mass of a Hollow that made the ground shake with its weight but somehow didn't seem solid, took out all the Shinigami near to it with two swipes of its huge, tentacular arms, before turning to its target and charging a Cero in its Hollow hole. With another deafening roar, the monster unleashed the blast and leapt forward simultaneously, its two tentacles lifted in the air to strike downwards at the Shinigami should he try to dodge upwards.

Brago stepped from the portal his eyes scanning the battlefield below. He stepped down and onto the roof of the building. He remembered this world, the pain it had caused him and the revenge he had taken. He smiled as the blurry images flashed through his mind. Crossing his arms he stepped up onto the edge of the building and watched the mayhem below unfold. Looking to his left and right he spotted the other arrancar two he knew one he hadnt met yet. Shaking his head he jumped off the building and began running down the side of the building. As he neared the bottom he jumped off and flipped landing on his feet and dropping to one knee and a hand.
Standing in the street he looked around at the battle ripping through the streets around him. He smirked drawing his sword and swung it in a circle. Time to prove my worth.

Nonko and Nanako stood on a ledge away from the battle. "Good, contact me when everything is set up and ready." Nonko closed the soul phone. He was speaking with people from his division control center. In the last battles that took place in the world Nonko had neglected to have the appropriate measures to provide protection put in place. This time however he made sure to do this before anything else.
"I had them set everything to the maximum rang. I have a feeling this fight will be a very interesting one."
Nanako turned to look at Nonko for a second before looking back to the fight and the arriving arrancar. Looking to here he began noticing a difference in how she has been acting lately. Her attitude and manner has changed. She was asking less questions. Nanako. Could it be your system is degrading just like those before you? he thought for a moment before the phone started to go off.
"Everything is in place? Good. At least now no one can say we didn't do our job."
Hanging up the phone Nonko motioned for Nanako to follow. Jumping from the ledge he moved a little closer to the combat, but still stayed just along the border to prevent from actually being forced to fight. He find a space where he could see the battle clearly and began scanning everyone he could see. "This will indeed be an interesting day."

A frown appeared on Rose’s soft face as the reiatsu of shinigami soon filled her vision in all directions. How could so many arrive so quickly? “How did they know to act so fast…?” She questioned quietly before she shook the thoughts away in her head. In did not matter how her enemies had known of their attack so soon…what mattered was defeating them here and now for Lord Karzan. "We will win, Kyoshin." She said aloud, feeling his reiatsu close by. It was reassurance both to her and him. Tightening the grip on her zanpakuto, she flipped upside down so her head was facing the ground below before launching herself downward, sword at the ready to attack the closest shinigami.
As she flew down her left hand rose above her bandaged eyes and swung itself downward. This called to lesser hollow to her right and left side, both bat like creatures in appearance as the three crashed upon the ground below. Her vision was like a water painting, the reiatsu of the shinigami turned this world into a mess of colors. It was upsetting to see such a disturbance in such a beautiful area. The espada would not fall to these creatures, she promised herself as she engaged an unseated officer with her blade, the two colliding briefly. The shinigami man however, was easily outmatched by her strength and was quickly pushed to the ground.
The man retracted his blade and attempted to stab the woman, but his blade harmlessly stopped against her skin thanks to her heirro. “I am sorry, but you are an enemy to my family.” She reminded him calmly, as she lifted her blade overhead, preparing to kill her opponent without mercy unless someone could intervene in time. Meanwhile the hollow next to her surveyed the immediate area, to make sure the tercero espada would not be jumped so easily.

Sven's frame gently levitated downwards as his feet met the loose gravel underneath him, surrounded by the lesser hollows which had accompanied him to this locale, most bearing diminutive statures, possessing feline and canine features as they swiftly swerved through one another towards anything that would dare possess a pulse. Guided by mere instinct, they grouped up on the Shinigami who had been careless and let down their guards. Sven's pace remained constant as his less evolved brethren avoided him, instead leaving him to smile at a Shinigami who had three of the fiends bearing down upon the man's like a pack of starved wolves.
As he approached the reaper, he quickly stifled a laugh as Sven halted to stare down at the Shinigami who was bellydown on the floor, several hollows pressing the man down as their claws dug into the man's flesh, inciting the Shinigami's cries of anguish. Sven's head tilted to the side as the reaper's pulled itself upward to look at him, pleading silently. Sven's eyes narrowed as he managed to let a lighthearted laugh escape at the Shinigami's expense. "Merci, yuu want? Yet I zhink yuu don't dezerve zuch a zhing, zatzujin. Even zis iz too good for yur kind. Rot zhere like a good lil' zhinigami."
A simple nod of Sven's head notified the Hollows on the man to finish him, as a thin doglike hollow leaped onto the man's head, it's teeth soon ripping at the back of the man's cranium, the reaper's muffled cries soon ceased, as Sven shrugged it off, instead focusing his Pesquisa to those around him, his right hand moving down to his blade hilt, as his forefinger restlessly tapped on the guard, listening to the resonating sound it made around him.
There were stronger Shinigami then this groveling corpse and Sven was determined to fish them out. So far he counted three, two of which were familiar to him, the third fluctuating wildly. Sven quickly discerned the first two to be of the feral Shinigami and that Nonko character, as he precisely remembered facing the reaper's little science experiment, before another Captain turned on him. Now just to decide which one posed the most threat. Maybe he should strive for that feral subordinate. There was an old saying that the weakest links proved most efficient. Then again, there was the saying, cut off the head and the body will perish, so perhaps the Captain was the better target, even if just to lure the Shinigami into the fray and harm's way.
Sven walked silently among the wave of Hollow and humans, moving ever slightly as he avoided an occasional body or tactic that strayed off course, swerving underneath the bulky masses of some of the larger Hollows, as they were fueled by their hunger. He remain pondering what his proposed course of action would be.

“We are NOT to engage the enemy.” The voice of a fellow quincy echoed in Heinrich’s head. As he ran down the street…alone, into the war zone. “As has been ordered, we will let the arrancar and the shinigami kill themselves. We are only to aid injured humans. Do you understand, this is NOT our battle. The quincy can not afford any casualties!” Heinrich shook his head in anger. He could not believe what he had heard from his fellow quincy. The shinigami may have been enemies, but he was not gonna stand idle by while they fought their war in his home.
"To hell with them!" It wasn’t really like him, he had to admit. He was not use to running in without a plan and it made him incredibly nervous. He chopped down on the piece of plastic in his mouth, as was his habit, as he generated his metallic looking bow. The other Quincy might not think this was there fight that the risks outweighed the gains…but for once Heinrich did not care. People were gonna die, innocent people, and he could not let that happen…even if they were the shinigami. “Ryoko…fahgive me.” He muttered to himself as he entered the heat of the battle.
It was terrifying, hollow were everywhere and people all over were being attacked. And amongst the crowd were the espada…beings Henry had only heard of. They seemed just as dangerous as he thought. His eyes fell upon Rose, the closest espada too him. He knew of the hollow, it was more important to engage the arrancar…but he also knew that they were incredibly powerful. As he looked upon her, he saw that she planned to plunge her blade into a prone Shinigami. So carefully, he would use the opportunity to create a “branding” arrow, and aimed his shot towards her arm. Just as she prepared to swing her blade into the shinigami he fired. A distinct whistling sound would be heard as the arrow flew towards her arm. “Please hit…” He thought to himself with clenched teeth.

Azerik ducked behind his sword in midair, the swing from the skeletal Adjucha smashing into the massive blade and sending Azerik toward a building. He caught himself in midair, coming to a stop with his feet touching the building. Gritting his teeth, Azerik sent a blast of air beneath his feet to launch himself at the Hollow, and deliver an overhead vertical slash, releasing another blast of condensed air as he did so, hoping to knock the creature back to give him more room to maneuver.
"Hadou #54!" Azerik shouted after his attempt to knock back the Hollow, "Haien!"

"Hadou #63: Raikoho."
Takehiko's spell would neutralize the Cero as they connected, and continue on to knock the gargantuan Adjucha off its current path, veering off to the right. The mountain man jumped toward his distracted adversary, and with a swift slash, separate its tentacles from the body. Using shunpo, he then landed on its head, and cut its mask down the center, continuing into the body to purify the souls that comprised it.
As the hollow disintegrated, Takehiko would survey the battlefield, and see a lone Quincy attempting to stop an Espada from harming a Shinigami. Using Shunpo again, Takehiko moved to intercept the blade that would end his comrades life, knowing the arrow would not change that.
"Let your arrow fly true Quincy." Takehiko said as he moved away once his block had been achieved, moving to dispatch the Hollows that now sought to guard the Espada. He removed one limb from each of them with ease, keeping himself alert for a response from the Arrancar, and from the Quincy.

[OoC: Aw, lame, you god-moded my Adjuchas... Whatever, but I may be replacing him, that's an actual rank-perk I was using, not just a faceless NPC to be butchered 'n' stuff...]
Kyoshin's eyebrows raised as he witnessed Takehiko take down his Adjuchas almost effortlessly, but his look went from one of surprise to alarm as he saw the Shinigami move near Rose. It was upon impulse that he acted, quickly making a gash on his left palm and charging a Cero as he Sonido'd down to the fight below, landing with a crunch as his foot smashed the skull of the Shinigami Rose had tried to finish earlier. Without word or pause he unleashed the Gran Rey upon Takehiko, not giving the Shinigami even a second to react to Kyoshin's new position before firing. Even if the target dodged, countless other Shinigami and humans would be obliterated by the mass of destructive energy, and Takehiko hadn't any time to be casting Kido. Kyoshin watched with a cold, murderous gaze as his Cero advanced, before quickly turning to Rose and ensuring that she hadn't taken any damage, as he hadn't moved in time to deal with the arrow headed her way.
"Are you alright?" he asked the Tercero Espada, trying to mask the concern in his voice. He didn't want her to feel weak or coddle her at all, but suddenly he did feel scared for her, this new Shinigami was strong, perhaps stronger than the Second in Command himself. Drawing his sword in one hand and keeping his free one at the ready, Kyoshin turned his back to Rose but looked over his shoulder to keep her in his eyesight as he waited for the Shinigami to return fire.
The Adjuchas Azerik was facing raised its blade again to defend itself from the Shinigami's sword, but was knocked of balance by the blast of air and howled in pain as much of its right arm and side were engulfed in white-hot Kido flames. It rampaged for several moments as it desperately tried to put the fire out, and though it took out a few Shinigami as it thrashed around, it would appear to have been defeated. Until, of course, its High-Speed Regeneration kicked in. Suddenly, the monster's arm was regrown, and while it had been slightly damaged internally, its exterior completely healed itself. Letting out another scream, but one of rage, meant to scare the 12th Division member, the Menos charged the Shinigami again and began letting off Cero blasts as it did, wholly determined to destroy its new found enemy.

Brago snarled as he progressed through the battlefield shinigami and hollow's dying all around him. He tightened the grip on his sword. As small fry shinigami came within range he swung at them most missing. The few shots that hit werent major the blade barely cutting into any flesh. Blood dripping from his sword he closed on Kyoshin and Rose. Evening brother and sister how is the battle going? Seeing the arrow flying forward he stepped sideways and swung his sword hoping to cut the shaft of the blade in half.

Post by Miwa Kiyomizu on Feb 29, 2012 13:59:05 GMT -5
A new entity entered the scene as a young girl flew onto a nearby rooftop, her blue eyes focused intently on the three Arrancar gathered around. Usually, she would charge recklessly in, but the girl knew this time such an act would be considered suicidal, especially with her reiatsu sparking violently around her person, as an electrical surge subconsciously reacted to the combined totals of the reiatsu in the area. As the girl's eyes drifted among the three Arrancar grouped up, she determined them to be the strongest, what Abel Nox had previously called Arrancar, the maskless Hollow. Nonetheless, they were still Hollow, the girl knew that perfectly clear, and that meant one thing, time to kick some ass, Miwa style.
Now she wasn't so good with formulating strategies, but she had to separate the three. Two of them seemed weak enough, or it may have been Miwa's training regiment that put her on a near level to them, but one of them was obviously over her skill and she figured that one must be the leader. So, calculating her options, she would have to target the two lesser Arrancar. The Shinigami in the area provided enough of a distraction for a sneak attack, something Miwa didn't usually approve of, but she was willing to let slide if it meant luring one of them away. Now for some help. Her eyes caught the brief unmistakable spiritual arrow of a Quincy fly by, as her gaze followed the arrow up to the point where the Arrancar cleaved through it as though it was naught more then butter.
Keeping her head down, Miwa swiftly darted off the rooftop as she landed gracefully, like a cat she might add, onto her feet, soon catching up to the Quincy. Not bothering to look at the Quincy, she barked a clear instruction towards the human, "Cover me or die here."
Of course, it was a little blunt, but she meant it as a blue electrical charge formed in her palms. Ducking out of the way of a hungry Hollow who had been attracted to her spiritual pressure, she jumped onto the beast's skull, sending it crashing into the earth with impact as she used the fiend's cranium as a springboard to launch herself near the Arrancar. The blue light in her palms faded as Miwa threw her hands outwards towards her as she spun through the air, several highly electrified shuriken sent flying towards the group, as Miwa began to descend. Yeah, it was good, she was better than a ninja after all. She won't fall to some lowly Hollow. Now hopefully the Quincy would back her up some while the Shinigami distracted the others. Just to be safe, Miwa toned down her reiatsu, as she fell.

"Feed little ones.... go... feed."
Several new gargantuas opened up near the epicenter of the battle. More of the smaller hollow began to filter through the normal portals onto the streets however a bigger gargantua formed a block behind the general location of the arrancar. From there a giant dragon of an adjucha on all fours appeared walking out onto the pavement followed by a few Gillians. This adjucha was big... far bigger than the others before... abnormally big.
The gargantua closed once all had exited into the human realm.
The adjucha peered on at the sight... then stood upon its hind legs and emitted a long deafening and massive roar that funneled its way past everyone in the vicinity shattering every window in the surrounding area. Shattered glass would fall upon those down on the streets. (OOP: This was the ability Roar of the Grand Dragon. Read what it does in my profile and see if it has affected you.) Once the roar subsided it landed back on all fours... its massive weight causing the ground beneath to shake violently.
The more experienced arrancar would instantly know what had come. And not a moment too soon it appeared... red swirls of energy began forming behind the adjucha... the tell tale sign that the gillian behind him began charging their ceros.

James had seen the great holes open up and the beast of another world pour out of them, quickly he raced toward the area with all haste. Still by the time he had arrived it seemed as if the battle had already begun, no he couldn't call it a battle, the place had turned into a war zone.
Racing down the road he watched as hollows were making a mad rush to feed in almost all directions, though none of the humans were close enough for him to actually help. realizing that he had actually entered the war zone bulky black armor covered his body as spike slowly grew out it in almost all directions and not a moment too soon as he rounded a corner and ending up face to face with a hollow. Doing the first thing that came to his mind he dived at the creatures knees forcing the poor beast to fall to one side stunned from the sudden loss of balance. Taking the advantage James recovered his footing and jumped onto the creatures back driving the spike on his legs in to it for better grip. From here he began slamming his spiked fist into the back of it's head. It being only a weak creature it didn't take long for the hollow disintegrate below him.
"Come on who's next" he said to himself as he looked around
