Shadow and Fire (1-on-1) [Virgil]

[Kyoshin Oscuro]

(Tell me if you got a problem with me doing this, I'm just experimenting different ways to fight. I can change this if the stats don't add up or whatever.)

Kyoshin shot a Bala from his mouth to collide with Virgil's, making the two explode in midair. "I never said I couldn't understand you, Virgil," he responded. "You think we don't understand you," he finished, shooting his Cero at Virgil knowing the Segunda couldn't dodge while he was in the air. He countered Virgil's next Bala the same way, then sliced through Virgil's poorly charged Cero with ease. "And you, of all of us, know? You know what it means to be a Hollow, better than the Lord of the Deep? That's why you sicken me, Virgil."

Virgil flipped forward as the Cero came towards him and swung his tail at it. The tail, holding his sword collided with the fully charged cero and brief struggle between the two erupted. The Cero would compress itself around the clash and eventually push itself forward around Virgil, but by then a lot of its power had been used up. The chimera landed on the ground with burns over his legs and tail from the attack but had survived the main brunt of the cero. "That's fine..." He said to Kyoshin's words as he charged directly at the second in command, sending a quick punch towards his chest before grabbing his shirt and attempting to throw him back towards the center of the crater. "I can understand why you think like you do...we are very similar after all. The difference between us is the effect the Lord of the deep is having on you."

Failing to avoid Virgil's fist, Kyoshin was struck in the chest and almost lifted off the ground by the Segunda. He took a slash at his captor and fired another Bala from his mouth at the Segunda, hoping to break Virgil's grip on him. "The effect he has on me?" Kyoshin asked coldly. "What sort of effect does he have upon you, then, Segunda?"

With Virgil's tail he lifted it to meet with Kyoshins sword, using is strength to keep him from knocking it away and before the Bala could be fired The chimera would throw him like a rag doll back into the crater, where he would fall towards with incredible speed. The bala that he fired would stray off into the distance due to him being flung in the process of firing it. "He is a wall. A being of power that I must eventually overcome. No petty tricks, no back stabbing...a direct challenge. He influences me to challenge his power. To him I am but a pawn that he must carefully watch, to me he is the mountain I must eventually climb." He leapt into the air, crashing landing right next to where he had thrown the second in command.

"You think of me as a fool, I'm sure, challenging the lord of the deep. But it is the way of our people, those with the most power can have the greatest influence." He spoke more calmly as the tail dumped his sword back in his hand. "That is why you must open your eyes, commander, he teaches you loyalty instead of power. Brings doubt upon the way a hollow should be." He would raise his sword and begin attacking Kyoshin again with a few quick but weak slashes, "Do not misunderstand my words as those of a traitor, I am not looking to sow the seeds of rebellion...rest assured the lord of the deep is fully aware of my beliefs and actions, and I have no intention of cowardly killing him. If I am to overcome him it will be through battle and nothing more." He would end his session of strikes with a powerful overhead swing towards the second in command.

Casually countering each of Virgil's first group of strikes, Kyoshin's face hardened as the Segunda spoke. He raised his sword above his head to stop Virgil's last attack, immediately buckling under the power of the swing and almost loosing his sword. The ground under him cracked and gave in a bit from the impact. He fired a few Bala from his mouth, hoping to break Virgil's concentration at least, also trying to jab his spare hand into his opponent's chest at the same time.

"And what shall your quest for power do for Hueco Mundo?" Kyoshin asked, some anger evident in his voice. "Even should you succeed, there will be one less Espada in Las Noches, and a new Lord of the Deep with none to follow him. You will weaken us, Virgil. With your lofty aspirations, you will drive us to the ground!"

"Power is essential." Virgil answered back sending his tail into Kyoshin to knock him, causing his bala to cut through his shoulder instead of his chest, however it did cause him to back up a step. "And my quest for it will help us continue to grow." He would raise his free hand and fire a few bala at his opponent, as he moved forward to strike with his sword again.

"Can you truly say the Lord of the Deep is not doing the same thing now? Everyday, espada and arrancar alike have been disappearing into the sands of los noches, leaving us behind. Even the Tercero has abandoned us under the Lord of the Deep's rule." Virgil said as his strikes increased in speed and power. "The army is but a fraction of what it once was, surely you can see that." The segunda would suddenly stop his movement again, allowing his tail to whip forward at Kyoshin once more, "I respect him has a powerful arrancar, but If the ruler is not to blame for these loses, than who is?" As the tail whipped forward it would attempt to wrap around his arm and pull him toward the espada, would throw a quick left hook.

Kyoshin was knocked back by the force of the Bala, yet he had no time to nurse his wounds as Virgil moved in for another strike. The Second in Command defended from the blow with his sword clutched in both hands, obviously starting to get worn out fighting an Arrancar so superior to him in power.

"I would hardly blame that idiot Ichiru's betrayal on our master. He was too weak and foolish, addled by those weak human obsessions, tea and crumpets or whatever that crud was. And as for our dwindling numbers, you must recall, Karzan rather inherited his predicament from his predecessor, Anubis?" Kyoshin responded as he blocked Virgil's strikes, evidently getting wearier each time. "And even so, he does far more that yourself to recruit more Arrancar. Unless, of course, you count going out in the desert and making Adjuchas bleed with your Zanpakuto as 'recruiting'." This last part he said with a mocking grin on his face, still smiling as Virgil's pulled him forward and punched him in the chest. For as he got yanked closer to the Segunda, he thrust his sword directly into Virgil's chest, hoping his skill with the sword would win out over Virgil's strength and speed. As he did so, he shot a another Bala from his mouth, aimed at the same spot the sword would hit.

Virgil brought his blade up causing it and Kyoshin's blade to grind against each other, stopping it enough where it had not run itself through his chest, but still managed to stab into it an inch or two in. He listened to the commanders words carefully before pushing himself and Kyoshin apart as as the bala blasted into his chest in the spot he had been stabbed. He took a few steps back from the attack but held his ground, moving his left hand to the wound. A smirk slowly grew on the espada's face, "So you saw that little encounter then?" He said with a curious hint in his voice, standing up straight again before continuing to speak.

"I saw them hiding from me, waiting to see what they could do. I saw that the primal instinct, that thirst for power...was in their eyes but they had not claimed it yet." He began to explain lifting his sword up towards his eyes, "So I would give them the motivation to seek a greater power, a little push." He swung the blade down dramatically into the rock, cracking the earth beneath his feet.

"I left the two strongest of the five. The rest were crushed. Now they run, seeking the power needed to get their revenge or to secure their safety...they'll come back much stronger than had I not interfered. By then they could become deadly arrancar..." He looked back at Kyoshin, his left hand lifting up from the wound to reveal a cero he had been charging, his grin returning to his stern appearance. "Or at least...a battle for me to grow stronger." He would fire his cero at his opponent at that moment.

As quick as he could, Kyoshin raised his sword to block the Cero, sliding back several yards on his feet as the two powers battled. Eventually, the Cero weakened and was cut through with Kyoshin's blade, but left burns on his hands and arms due to the proximity. He lowered his blade, hatred evident in his eyes as he charged at Virgil again.

"All of your power, and yet you still rely on hiding tricks up your sleeve?" he asked disdainfully, his blade clashing with Virgil's with all the strength he could muster. "Yet I suppose that's always been your style, Segunda."

Sparks would fly out in all directions as Kyoshin's blade collided with the Segunda's but Virgil held his ground, holding the arrancar back with his blade. "...The style of a hollow, commander." He replied with a smirk, his eyes showed no hatred towards his fellow espada. They showed the fire of battle, that was what this espada was after at the moment, nothing more and nothing less. With a burst of strength he would push against Kyoshins blade and begin moving the espada backward. With each step they took backward he would swing his blade at Kyoshin, continuing to try and wear him down, the strikes would become more intense every second the second in command stayed this close.

"Tssk." Kyoshin blocked the Segunda's strike with his sword held in both hands, asking as he did so, "A Hollow's style?" He shot a Bala from his mouth at Virgil, the blocked the next strike.

"A Hollow... doesn't hide its attacks behind it's back. It makes damn sure you know it's attacking, and that you see it attack." He paused to shoot another Bala, punctuating each of his blocks the same way, a Bala aimed at Virgil's heart. Or, where the heart should be. "What good is an attack, if the prey doesn't see it coming? They die without fear, not knowing what hit them. Your prey should dread it's death, see you preparing to kill them and know you are sealing their fate, laughing as you do so. That, Segunda, is the way of a Hollow. That is the way of our kind."

"Perhaps if the hollow is trying to make his enemy fear him..." He said as bobbed and weaved back and forth to dodge the incoming bala's as he would continue to strike at his opponent, using his speed at its full potential. "That is not what I'm looking to do to you." He would say as his tail would move forward again in an attempt to wrap around Kyoshins foot and drag him to the ground. Virgil himself would leap into the air and drive his sword downward at the espada.

"As if you could scare me anyway..." Kyoshin was unable to react in time to Virgil's tail, and was pulled to the ground by it. Yet as he was, he charged a Cero in his left hand, and shot it at the Segunda as the other Espada attacked, rolling out of the way of Virgil's sword at the same time. Pulling himself up as much as he could, Kyoshin was partially on his back, with his legs drawn towards him and his arms holing him up, in a position as if to crab walk. He hacked at Virgil's tail with his sword and shot a few Bala from his mouth at it, then attempted to get up, charging another Cero in his left hand as he did.

Kyoshin's cero, having little to no time charging was small, and Virgil was able to twist his body enough to avoid the incoming attack, however he had to sacrifice doing his sword slash in return and just land on the ground carefully. He pulled his tail back towards himself when Kyoshin attempted to stab at it, it was not a bad tactic to aim for his tail but it was thin and fast and Kyoshin just did not have the speed to hit it as it swayed back and forth quickly.

As the espada had been focusing his attention on the tail Virgil would breath in again and fire off another blast of chimera fire towards the commander when he pulled his tail back. He would leap forward behind charging a cero within his free hand as preparation of countering Kyoshins while also putting his sword forward to slash at him when the fire had passed.

Not prepared to dodge, Kyoshin shot a few Bala from his mouth at the flames, then raised his left arm to shield his face and turned to the side to minimize his exposure to the flames. He then nonchalantly blocked Virgil's blade with a slash of his, making Virgil fumble with his sword for but an instant as he drew back his blade and slashed again at Virgil's body, while shooting another Bala from his mouth at Virgil's chest.

The bala's would do little to stop the progress of the flames and Virgil maneuvered around them with his greater speed to strike at Kyoshin, but the blade was parried effectively causing the Segunda to stumble a bit in his strike causing the bala to follow to strike him under his arm. Virgil spun himself back from the attack and would whip his tail forward to strike at Kyoshin's arm to prevent his sword from coming down on the Segunda who would then charge forward and strike at the commanders chest with his left palm with full force.

As Virgil tried to jab his hand into Kyoshin's chest, the Second in Command fired off his previously charged Cero at the Segunda to counter the attack, then slashed after the Segunda with his blade for good measure. Then leaping into the air, he fired off five Bala at Virgil before charging another Cero in his left hand and performing a downward slash aimed at his opponent.

(Yeaaaap. I also have two other threads to get stats from currently so I'm not actually at the best I could be atm)

Virgil ducked under the cero; it singed the top of his hair as he barely avoided the cero. Using his superiour strength he would whip his tail up at Kyoshins arm to effortlessly knock away his attempt at slashing him, allowing the chimera to deliver his strike to his opponents chest. Kyoshin was lucky he decided to leap away just as the palm would strike him, otherwise the impact of the strike would have been that much more damaging.

The chimera watched him move into the air and fire his bala at him, but Virgl would dash forward and slid passed them, firing a series of bala of his own from his left hand as Kyoshin came down dowards him. He then would grab hold of his sword with both hands, and swung with all of his might at the descending hollow, blocking it would be a big mistake with the amount of strength backing Virgil's swing, Kyoshin did not have the power to meet the attack head on.

Reacting as fast as he could, Kyoshin blocked a few of the Bala with his sword, still taking a hit to the shoulder and being thrown back further into the sky by the the total force of all the Bala. He waited calmly, still holding a Cero in his left hand from before, as Virgil ascended to meet him and took a powerful swing at the Lieutenant. It was then that Kyoshin fired his Cero at Virgil point blank, knowing it would at least slow the Segunda down, while allowing the force of the explosion to propel him another ten yards away from Virgil.

After a pause, he began shooting a string of Bala from his left hand at Virgil, charging a Cero in his mouth while he did so. Not stopping until the Cero had finished charging, the barrage of Bala finally ended as Kyoshin shot his fully charged Cero at Virgil, then leapt higher into the night sky.

Virgil's sword collided with the cero with all of his strength backing it, Kyoshins well timed attack being enough to slow the swing of his blade from cutting the arrancar. The clash between the blast and Virgil's sword was brief, however, before he managed to repel the attack, causing himself to be dragged back a few feet.

The segunda lifted his head towards the barrage of bala's coming his way, quite a large amount to dodge. Virgil quickly dug his blade into the ground a forcing his weight against it uprooted the ground infront of him, creating a small barrier of rock. "Keep up an attack like this and you're bound to drain most of your energy." He warned with a sly grin as the barrier of rock was chipped a way bit by bit with each attack. Just before it was completely destroyed the espada Would kick his leg against it and send it into the remaining bala's while he dashed to the side, the Cero nearly colliding with him. He rolled across the ground for a distance from the force before digging his left claw into the ground to stop his movements.

He rose back to his feet, and watched Kyoshin, letting him make the next move.
