He had fought a Vizard and won. He had braved an all-out attack by the Shinigami and critically injured most of them. He had dueled his master and rivaled his power. And now... He would fight a Human.
Kyoshin walked out onto a four-way intersection in the Shopping District, thinking it the ideal place to call the human out. It was afternoon, and the sky was grey, the sun never shining for more than an instant before it's light was swallowed up by another stormcloud. The traffic on the roads was lazy, only a few cars nearing Kyoshin at a time. Losing a bit of patience, he fired a Bala at one of the approaching cars, striking it head on and flipping it into the air. He used Sonido to get directly under it, then spiked it even higher in the sky before knocking it into a storefront. Not having the patience to repeat the process, he charged and fired a casual Cero over his back, taking out several more parked cars before obliterating a rather crowded shop of panicking citizens.
He flared his Reiatsu, forming a massive black column of his own power that towered into the sky and blacked out the sun. Clyde was sure to see this, he thought. It shouldn't take that human long...

Clyde would show up sooner than the arrancar would think as his cero was intercepted by an orb of gray reiatsu; the human encased in his own ability to deflect the "casual cero" and protect the shoppers who would otherwise have been completely vaporized from the attack. Ever since his battle with Virgil, he had been patrolling the areas of karakura much more frequently as best as he could, luckily he had been close by before things got any worse. "Go, get out of here! This place is no longer safe! Run!" He yelled out to the shoppers as the reiatsu cleared around him and formed into his iconic spear, revealing himself to Kyoshin.
As the shoppers began to flee away he turned himself towards the espada. The area began to settle down as the streets were cleared. The battlefield was set. "Now that that's settled..." There was no fear in the boys eyes as he stared down the evolved hollow. The boy had fought them before, defeated one before. And if they continued to threaten the people here he would do it again.
"An arrancar...I should have expected as much." He grunted as he tightened his grip on the spear of energy, bringing his arm forward and pointing it towards the creature. "...Why are you attacking these people when they have done nothing to you?" He questioned with anger in his voice, though his voice did not raise past it's normal tone. "What the hell does your kind gain from doing this? Answer me!" His reiatsu immediately began condensing around him as he questioned his enemy.
"You made a mistake, arrancar." He said with confidence even as the sky darkened around him. Moving into an offensive position he spoke, "Now that I'm here...I won't let this continue. I promise you that. Now...prepare yourself."

Kyoshin would lazily turn as Clyde helped the humans escape, not doing anything to stop him. Now that he was here, Clyde was the target, and killing humans would be a waste of time. "How irrational, Clyde. You should know more about death than that..."
He grinned wickedly and drew his sword, pointing it at the human and continuing, "Humans spawn, eat, sleep, mate, and die. 'Tis the way of things. Death is inevitable, and the dead do not carry memories from this life. This life brings them only pain and suffering. Humans are meant to die, for their lives are meaningless and fleeting. I'm just helping them along, helping them achieve their potential as Hollows. There is nothing for them in this life. You should know this."
He would suddenly lower his shoulder and extend his elbow, using Sonido to slam into Clyde and send him flying, then dart after him with his sword at the ready.

"Music""You know my name? Is this another trap by Karzan?" He questioned, but Kyoshin spoke over him, speaking of the way he thought humans were. It was senseless and insane, but he had come to expect that from their kind. He needed to stop him now, was the only thing he thought of. Clyde was taken by surprise as the espada managed to appear in front of him nearly instantly. He did not have enough time to react as Kyoshin slammed into him and sent him backwards. As he flew through the air from the strike he flipped himself forward to face the incoming espada, and brought his weapon up and carefully parried the incoming slash the hollow attempted to give him with his blade. When he had fought Virgil he had relied solely on his own speed, but it appeared some of them had the same power the shinigami had. "Shunpo? I thought only shinigami could..." He began to say as the two floated mid air for the moment, but he stopped himself and immediately charged at the hollow, clashing their weapons together he would push against his enemy. As their weapons connected however, the shape of Clyde's changed and expanded, wrapping its shape around Kyoshins sword so that he was forced into the grapple Clyde wanted to put him in. "If you lose your memories of being a human after you die, than how would you know what it's like to be a human? You judge us and sentence us to our own death, but all of your experiences with us are from the outside looking in! As much as you think you have...you will never truly understand a human being!" His hands tightened around the spear as he pushed against his enemy, the two still locked thanks to the the spear "fusing" to the zanpakuto. His reiatsu pulsed as he pushed against his enemy, his power steadily increasing. "So then, let me show you..." His voice echoed out as gray reiatsu gathered around him from all directions, tapping into all of his power. "What a human is capable of! Crescent Slash!" He yelled out as his weapon lit up and shot a blast of reiatsu fored directly at the espada, finally releasing the blade from his grapple, aiming to engulf him with his power.

"As it seems, you shall never truly understand death," Kyoshin responded, doing nothing to stop Clyde's attack. He let the blast hit him head on, wanting to witness firsthand what sort of power Clyde was capable of, and was rather surprised. He was sent flying, eventually bringing himself to a skidding halt before standing back up and inspecting the damage. Most of his cloak had been incinerated around his torso, and he had received some burn damage.
"Interesting technique, but you'll need more than this to give Karzan a challenge," he commented, pointing his sword at Clyde again. He charged a Cero in his other hand, then used Sonido to move behind Clyde and take a quick slash at him, before firing his Cero at the human and using Sonido to retreat several yards and inspect Clyde's reaction.

"Got him!" Clyde thought triumphantly as the blast crashed into the ground below him as the human drifted onto a rooftop close by. His eyes widened a bit, however, when he saw Kyoshin rise from the smoke and debris from the attack with only a few scrapes on him, like he had simply tripped or something. "Just a scratch. It barely harmed him! Whoever this arrancar is, he is incredibly strong to shake off such an attack...." Although he was taken by surprise by the nonchalant reply Kyoshin gave him about his attack, the boy readied his weapon as the espada spoke to him and began to charge his cero, preparing to defend himself when the hollow disappeared from his view.
He knew what was coming, quickly he spun himself around just in time for their blades to collided again. Kimiko, Zakura, Hasaki. All of the shinigami he had fought before used this tactic well, using shunpo to reach his backside of an expected attack. After dealing with it so many times, it had become muscle memory in how to react to such an attack it may even surprise the espada how quickly he responded to the tactic. However, unlike an arrancar, they others didn't have a cero. He questioned as the red energy of the attack reflected in Clyde's gray eyes as the blast engulfed him. from where Kyoshin had sonido'd to, he would see the trail of red smash into one of the walls of the shopping mall.
There was a pause in the air as the smoke cleared, revealing the human with his spear gone and a barrier around his body. It was cracked and falling apart, and blood was dripping from the boy's forehead. After a second the barrier shattered completely, it's pieces forming around Clyde's hand which he used to create a sword similar to a zanpakuto in appearance...but like the spear it was made of energy. "Don't worry arrancar, I'm just getting started." He called out to the hollow as he leapt up to meet with the hollow again, grabbing hold of his blade with both hands, firing off another wave of reiatsu at him.

"Are you now, Clyde..." Seeing the Crescent Slash coming, Kyoshin used Sonido to shoot into the sky and dodge the attack, then he used the technique again to fire himself down at Clyde. He would pause halfway in his descent to fire a barrage of 5 Bala at Clyde, before appearing again directly above the human. His sword in one hand, he thrusted with it at Clyde's chest while seeming to leave himself completely unguarded.

Clyde continued moving after his attack had missed, landing on the platform kyoshin had just been previously. As soon as his feet made contact he pushed off of it as hard as he could, moving backwards from his position just barely missing getting caught by the bala as they collided with the floor, causing a portion of it to collapse to the lower part of the shopping mall as well as some to smash into the boy's arms, cutting into them. As he moved back Kyoshin did not give him a moment to breath as he appeared above him, aiming his blade right at Clyde's chest. The boy saw an opening though, a rather big one, as if the espada was egging Clyde on to take advantage of it.
"What the hell...? He's not even trying to protect himself." The young man moved his blade down to parry the incoming stab, catching the blade. As the two blades collided however his sword twisted and turned traveling up the arrancar's zanpakuto in an attempt to wrap it completely around his opponents arm. As this happened Clyde would pull on the hilt of his weapon, causing the reiatsu it was comprised of to explode specifically around the area it had wrapped around.
When he had finished his attack he lifted the remainder of his weapon up, reforming it back into it's katana like appearance before swinging down at the espada. "...You act like you know me, letting me take advantage of your opening like that. What are you, testing me?" He paused, realizing something. The espada knew his name...he started attacking people in the busiest place in the city where Clyde scouted the most, even letting his reiatsu blacken the sky to make it obvious for the boy. Kyoshin... had "called" him, and him specifically, here. "...Who are you, why are the arrancar even in the human realm?" He questioned with fervor in his voice as he swung his sword several times at his enemy.

Kyoshin's disposition didn't change at all as Clyde's weapon raveled around his and made its way up his arm. He would appear to just wait, then he unexpectedly jerked his weapon to the side, presumably pulling Clyde towards the Arrancar, then in the same motion his other hand would shoot forward and stab into the human's chest. The stab was only meant to be about six inches deep, it wouldn't entirely rip through Clyde or damage him critically, though it would draw a considerable amount of blood.
Swiftly withdrawing his hand as Clyde's weapon detonated on his other arm, Kyoshin would reel back from the damage, which became visible momentarily. As before, the skin had not been broken, but most of Kyoshin's cloak was now gone and there was burn damage on his chest and right arm. He would Sonido backwards to avoid Clyde's first swing, and he took a few experimental swings with his sword arm to retest its functionality. Seeming satisfied, he would use not only his weapon but his left arm as well to block Clyde's new flurry of attacks, the arm holding up as if it were a weapon itself. Since his style was not as finessed as Clyde's, several hits would get past his guard, but would fail to break the skin of his chest as well. He was taking a battering, but he had the strength to stand stock still as he took the attacks.
To get Clyde out of his way, he would charge a Cero in his mouth while blocking, then fire it directly at Clyde if the human hadn't already abandoned his assault. He smiled. "How observant, Clyde. I am Kyoshin Agotar, Second in Command to the Lord of the Deep. I am here in Karakura by his orders... We Hollows have hidden in the desert for far to long."

Clyde eyes went wide as Kyoshin moved his free hand and went to dig into the boy's chest. Instinctively the boy moved to grab it with his free hand, but could only stop it after it had stabbed a few inches in, he pulled it out just after it got about 3 inches in still causing a considerable amount of blood to come from his wound. Despite the wound the boy push forward and swung at his opponent causing the two to exchange blows with their swords. Kyoshin arm, despite Clyde's attack, still moved relatively well but the human moved with much more refinement in his strikes having a much easier time blocking the arrancar's than he was blocking Clyde's.
Their blades sparked with their respective reiatsu as they collided one last time, as the boy realized his opponent was charging another cero. He quickly slashed his blade forward again against his opponents, but as he did it's shape changed slightly, causing a second blade to shoot upward at the espada's chin. Even if it didn't cut him, it would be used to knock his cero off balance while Clyde himself dodged to the right, hopefully causing the attack to move off target.
The boy landed carefully on the second floor of the shopping mall. He turned around looking up at the arrancar, a confident fiery look in his eyes. "Second in command huh? ...That certainly explains how your skin is so much tougher than Virgil's. But as far as I can see he was much stronger than you...and I beat him." He showed no fear looking at the man, even as he revealed his name and relation to Karzan. "So then what you're telling me is that besides you, the only one stronger is Karzan..." A grin crawled across his face as he pointed his sword back towards the espada. "That means all I have to do is beat you, then we've only got Karzan too worry about and this invasion will be as a good as won." With that the boy held his ground, positioning himself carefully, lowering his blade close to the floor...seemingly waiting for the espada to make the next move.

Clyde's attack succeeded in diverting Kyoshin's Cero, allowing him to descend into the shopping mall as Kyoshin watched. He stepped closer to the edge, gazing down at the human as he responded.
"That simple, is it?" He pointed his sword at the human, his expression somewhat unreadable. "You won't get far by gauging the power of an Arrancar based upon his strength alone. Virgil is definitely strong, but as an Arrancar... He is the weakest of us."
Suddenly, Kyoshin would use Sonido to appear barely a few feet in front and above of Clyde, taking a quick slash at Clyde before landing and aiming a powerful kick at the boy with his right leg. "Lesson One, Sonido. The Hollow's version if the Flash Step, it travels farther and faster than the Shinigami's Shunpo technique."

Clyde readied himself even as Kyoshin spoke, his blade making contact with the ground at his feet. The boy was taken off guard from the sudden sonido, however, and quickly tried to raise his blade to protect himself. While he did manage to clash with his opponents zanpakuto, Kyoshin had managed to knock the human off balance, causing him to place his weapon into the ground for support.
The commander then attempted to take advantage of this, dropping to the ground and to kick the human in the leg but this the boy was prepared for. When the kick was delivered a wall of reiatsu appeared in front of Clyde stopping the attack in place. It would then immediately move in an attempt to wrap itself around Kyoshin.
When the boy's blade had made contact with the ground due to Kyoshin's first attack he was able to manipulate its shape by spreading his reiatsu from the weapon to the ground. He used this to his advantage by creating the barrier to protect himself. If the barrier succeeded in wrapping around his enemy, it would explode.
Clyde jumped back from his own attack to avoid being damaged by it, as well as to reform his blade. He then shot forth another wave of reiatsu with a slash of the weapon, and held his blade defensively in wait for Kyoshin to recover.

"Interesting...." Rather than trying to dodge the trap, Kyoshin simply watched the Reiatsu-infused shield bend around him, letting it explode on contact with him. When the dust cleared, Kyoshin was burned in many areas with enough left of his hakama to preserve his modesty, while leaving him shirtless and barefoot. He rolled his shoulders and wound one of his arms as if he were only stretching, then using Sonido to closely dodge the Crescent Slash sent his way. He held up two finger when he reappeared, and said to Clyde, "Lesson Two, Hierro. Because Arrancar possess such condensed Reiatsu, our skins become as strong as Zanpakutos, and cannot be cut. As many attacks as you throw at me, you will never be able to break my skin, and cannot hope to defeat me."
He sound stepped again and appeared about two yards away from Clyde, unleashing a barrage of Bala from his left hand while his sword was kept ready in his right. He grinned, hoping Clyde would come up with some new strategy now that he had provided him with more information.

(Music)"I can see why Virgil could be considered weaker, then." Clyde admitted backing away from the first bit of bala coming towards him, leaping to another floor of the building. Just as he landed he jumped again, avoiding another wave of attacks. "When I fought him my weapons and attacks could cut him no problem. His reiatsu was not nearly condensed enough to hold back my strikes, unlike yours." Clyde recalled as he flew through the air towards Kyoshin, narrowly dodging another bala as he pushed his legs against a pillar towards his enemy. "This defensive ability alone you have makes you far more dangerous.""But I won't let it stop me." With that he landed upon the section of ground the espada stood bringing his blade down in a slash. When he brought it down however it would disperse allowing his arm to continued downward whether the attack was countered or not. In one fluid motion he would bring it to the ground and used his power to cause the floor around Kyoshin's feet to wrap around him to prevent him from using sonido at least for the moment, and keep the two close to each other. Clyde then manipulated another section of the ground to shoot up and aim for the espada's chest. It seemed the human was planning something, whatever it was, Kyoshin's next move seemed to come into play.

Kyoshin reflexively blocked the first swing with his arm, and grinned broadly as his feet were swallowed by the floor. Excellent, but would Clyde follow through? He swung a punch in Clyde's direction while charging and firing a Bala, before Clyde compelled the floor to attack him again. Reacting as quickly as he could, he maneuvered his fist and attempted the same technique again, but was unable to stop the protrusion from smashing into his chest and knocking his backwards. He grinned in amusement as he found himself bend over backwards, his feet still embedded in the earth while the section of the floor Clyde had manipulated was forced at his chest. Nice, but with some exertion he would be able to break this... For curiosity's sake he didn't act, he wanted to see where Clyde was taking this.

Kyoshin might be surprised however when he was grabbed in mid fall; Clyde had grabbed hold of his right arm with his right hand as he descended from his last attack. There would be an echo to follow the movement as the boy tightened his grip over the arm. "My power, Hou-renkenjitsu..." he spoke carefully, ...is the power to manipulate spiritual particles, reiatsu. ...Hierro, as you said...is the condensing of spiritual particles, reiatsu." As he explained the definition of the two abilities, his hand would glow with his power and suddenly his reiatsu would travel around the section of arm he had grabbed, within seconds the skin around that section would be effected by Clyde's power, which he used to disperse the reiatsu surrounding, causing the section of skin to literally be ripped apart. Blood would shoot from the wound as a result. "I have the ability to manipulate all reiatsu, it's how I beat Virgil...and it's how I can break through your Hierro!" The human expressed with fervor as he let go of the arm and recreated his sword, swinging it at the exposed section of the espada's arm. However, as a result of removing his arm from the ground, the floor returned to it's original state and freed Kyoshins legs at this moment.

Kyoshin's eyes widened in surprise as Clyde managed to tear through the Arrancar's Hierro with his bare hand, gaining a little more confidence in the young human. As Clyde's blade moved to slice through Kyoshin's arm, he would Sonido backwards, not quite willing to lose his sword arm just yet. "Well done," Kyoshin would commend, seeming genuinely pleased with the human's effort. "Karzan was right about you after all... But I'm not stopping here. I must show you once and for all that you have no hope of protecting this world from us at your current level. Noche Espina."

The sudden shockwave of black Reiatsu from Kyoshin's release would darken the area for a few moments, as Kyoshin's voice would call out, "Despair, human." Kyoshin's Reiatsu would suddenly force Clyde to his knees, and with a single Sonido the Arrancar would be standing over the human in his true form. Black tentacles would spring out of Clyde's shadow, thoroughly binding him as Kyoshin charged a Cero in his mouth. "Until your power increases, humans will die, Clyde. You cannot save them from us." |

Clyde held his ground, lifting his left arm to shield his eyes from the explosion of reiatsu that rained around the area. He stood as best as he can but slowly he needed to lower his legs to make up for the extra reiatsu being pushed upon. Before he could properly react tentacles emerged from his own shadow and began to wrap around him, their strength great enough to bind him to the ground. He struggled to hold his position as the espada reappeared in front of him.
The arrancar had taken on a much more hollow appearance, shadowy looking smoke cling to his body as if it where a jacket of some kind. Most obvious however was a large hollow mask, reminiscent of so many other hollow Clyde had fought. His eyes narrowed as Kyoshin spoke down to him and his efforts but the human was not deterred. When the cero began forming in his opponents mouth Clyde released his sword and placed his arm upon the ground he and his shadow had bound him to. In an instant the area collapsed into reiatsu particles allowing the human to fall down quite a distance below, even if the tentacles were still wrapped around his body.
As he hit the ground with a quick thud he grabbed at each tentacle, using his power to try and remove them as quickly as possible, turning each one into it's base particles as he touched them, dragging his body as best as he could while he did so. "What is this...some sort of release for his sword? I remember...Virgil attempted to do the same thing when I fought him. But the amount of reiatsu is unreal...I'll need to be careful." he thought to himself.

As Clyde fell downwards and freed himself from Kyoshin's tentacles, the Arrancar would unleash his Cero upon the human and slowly descend after him. "Lesson Three, Resurreccion," he slowly instructed. "Each Arrancar has a unique form that unleashes our full power sealed within our blades. Virgil may have been too proud to show you his, but I'm not fighting you for the reason he was, and I'm not afraid to demonstrate the true power of my kind. You need to learn about these things, after all."
He landed before the human and stood seemingly open to attack. "Come at me, human."

Clyde freed himself completely just in time to leap away from the incoming cero. The explosive power of the attack was much larger than before though, even though Clyde was able to move in time he still needed to use his power to create a barrier to protect himself from the surge of reiatsu...and even then it began to crack under the pressure.
The barrier crashed to the floor of a different section of the building, Clyde rolled out of it onto his feet and brought his arm to the ready in a defensive stance as he saw Kyoshin descending towards him. The espada explained what the release of his Zanpakuto really was. "I've heard enough, you can have as many powers as you want, it won't stop me!" The boy retaliated forming another blade and launching a wave of reiatsu out of it at Kyoshin.
When the blast was fired, however, Clyde quickly stabbed the blade into the ground and caused another hole to appear, sinking into a lower floor of the building. He was attempting to use his terrain to his advantage.
