General Information
Name:Sakuya Touka
Age:20 (After Arankaru)
Gender: Female
Rank: Espda 1
Character type:Arankaru
Personal Information
Personality: Touka enjoys the respect and silence of others while she is present among them. It's not as if she hated it, and if they did talk, she wouldn't really care. Touka is more "self-centered" , worrying more about things that could happen or affect her. In a way, every being in the universe is like that, however, Touka's personality mainly reflects this concept. A friend in battle, and is near death, or herself facing the same situation, her choice would be to get herself out first, before trying to save anyone else. Despite this attitude, others could "misinterpret" this as being kind. In such a situation, and she had not been in danger, then she would have saved him, for the fact that more allies meant a greater chance of success.
Touka can be more assertive as well as ignorant. She judges things upon her own consciousness, and decides from there. Even orders from "higher beings". She would rather do things her own way, because of the ability to further predict the outcomes of things. Although, most of the orders she receives are usually viewed as "good selections" and end up following them anyway. Not just that but boredom easily makes her "gullible" as well.
Physical Description:Touka, like many other Arankaru, wears the standard Arankaru clothing. The long white coat with white pants and a dark black sash. She keeps her coat buttoned, for the most part, and lets her Zanpacto settle nicely in her sash. She doesn't button her coat all the way up, though not as revealing. She usually keeps most her hair tied back, in a ponytail and let some of her hair hang down. Some of the time, she would rather have it not pulled back, and leave her long hair fall. She has abnormal ears, it would seem, but they are part of her mask. Even though she is a few centuries old, she still retains her image when she died, as a 16 year old. Though because of the lengthy time, and transformation into hollows, she looks to be around or in her 20s.
Height: 162 cm (5.31ft)
Weight: 48kg (108.02 lbs)

Character History:Sakuya Touka was born in a feudal era of Japan, a time where many remote wars were starting to draw more attention. These times were harsh, especially for the community that she lived in. Each of the districts was becoming more power hungry, and desperate for more land to supply their richness. The Shogun was the only one who held strict rules to keep the battles at minimums by forcing his own military upon them, it didn’t prevent all battles from occurring, but it stopped the whole island to erupt in war. Though, once he had passed away, leaving no one to take the Shogun name, war took every corner of the island. These battles created a massive uproar, making the Daimyo to raise their voice for their own position in the Shogun’s capital. A constant demand from the Daimyo for more weaponry, and for more support of their peasants forced the war to become an issue for everyone within the nation, only for their own greed of achieving the highest rank of there was. The battles were fierce, taking each district in a life or death situation. They left no one behind; fearing that anyone left might become treacherous for their progression.
These facts, even as horrifying it sounded to the Touka family, were ignored as most families do when something unbelievably terrifying approaches. Touka felt differently though, She didn’t want anyone in her family to die, and if it was just a myth, it would still provide a good motivation to start some kind of practice to defend for herself and her family. As a result, Touka learned the way to handle a sword in secret, against her parents' thoughts, and against society’s views. Everyday was strenuous, from practicing strikes of the sword; to the cleaning and cooking that she needed to help with as well. Even though her parents denied the fact that war would approach them soon, she could still see the worried thoughts they had, and even the other townspeople were caught purchasing weapons of their own. Though most of the town was still lax in preparing for any kind of battle, leaving just a small force be able to overrun their village. She did the best she could, going through this new routine for days, trying to learn anything and everything that took regular samurai years to complete in just a few short nights. Still, she wasn’t about to give up, even if it was wrong for a female to touch a weapon.
The day came, not a day too soon. Weeks after the day her training started, a reporter that had just recently left the town came dashing back. It was obvious he was covered in fear, and the townsfolk panicked. They ran to their houses, blocking doors, setting their traps, anything they could think of. Likewise, Touka and her family rested in their own small house. Though, Touka couldn’t just wait for the warriors to come barging into their house for her to attack. She grabbed the sword that took a large amount of pay to get, since she had to bribe a passerby to buy such a thing, and ran out of the house, despite the surprised looks of her family. She had learned enough to fight decently; though, by all means it was nowhere near professional. She met with the other folk who had felt the same way, holding their swords in the street, waiting for the first warrior to show. She hid at the end of the crowd, nervous from being killed, and at the thought of killing others. A fact that the reporter failed to mention was that this group of warriors was only a small force passing through to the next city. When they showed up in town, the home trained warriors, leaving not a single one left, ambushed the force. Touka, who was extremely frightened at this point, stayed hidden in her initial spot, until the majority had been killed. Knowing that they actually had a chance, she leapt out, forcing the little skill she had in fighting to slay a few of the warriors. The last one fell, leaving a significantly less amount of people standing, and only a few of the townsfolk were still alive. But what surprised them the most was Touka standing in a bloodstained kimono, and a katana in her hand, dripping with blood.
She was scared and upset from the result. The townsfolk feared her, and the other survivors of the battle. They were going to cause more trouble, and cause a conflict between their Daimyo, and the one who had sent these warriors through. At that spot, the townspeople exiled them, especially Touka, since she violated the rules of strictly helping out with the household. Collectively, they were forced to leave, but even the other survivors took little attention of her presence for the same reasons. She never saw her family again, and walked off, following a survivor who offered to help her to only train for survival. They stayed isolated from the battles, up partway of a mountain. They trained, and the kind-hearted survivor taught her what he knew, though she felt a sense of irritation from his words. Her skills became advanced quickly, especially with her quick learning attitude, and her obedience. At the end of the month, he left, leaving her with the words,” I only taught you this so that you could survive. I can’t watch a girl die just like that… But you still shouldn’t have picked up the sword…” She was left alone, and resided on the mountainside for a few more days, before leaving herself. The battle didn't establish just a fear of killing, but gave her a feeling of power. A feeling that would lead her on the path of “darkness”.
Her techniques were somewhat admirable, but they were still far from perfect. After all, she was just nearing her 18th birthday. But the fact that she was still able to fight and live gave her enough joy for her to enjoy the birthday alone. Everyday, she traveled, picking up various styles of fighting by the places she stayed. She only watched the other men practice their kenjutsu, trying to decipher it herself, so that she could try it later on. Many people asked her why she was traveling, and always offered the advice that it was a dangerous time to be “sightseeing”. She would always laugh, and tell them that it would be best if she could see the country before the wars became so violent that it would be wrecked; or they would die. No one knew about her kenjutsu, and few of them asked or tried to marry her, but she always left before she could be found again.
Of course, destiny wouldn’t be complete if she hadn’t been caught in another battle. Another town, far from her hometown, she was caught in the midst of another ambushing battle. Eager to test her skills, or die trying to prove her work, she left the town to meet the incoming warriors. She felt the world had already shown what it could, and given enough satisfaction of life that she could have. The force, just a few more members smaller than the one attacking her town paid no attention to her, until she moved without giving them a warning. Quickly, she descended into their ranks, killing the first two before they realized she was capable of fighting. Deep within the crowd, they could hardly draw their swords without hurting each other, and thus scrambled to gather room before drawing their swords. Nonetheless, some of the warriors drew their weapons to, in some way, protect themselves from her blade, or any of his comrades’. The most trouble was the last few, who had enough room to maneuver freely
