Description: His black silk hair is always kept short so that his enemies don't see fit to cheat and pull it. However, he has let his blonde bangs grow out just to frame his elegant face. His emerald eyes seem to always be scanning over every last detail before him...as long as it isinteresting. He stands little over six feet and weighs somewhere around 210 pounds. A third, of which, is nothing but his zanpakuto.
Personality: Initially, Masaru is rather kind towards his subordinates. He treats them with the respect they deserve. However, he has been known to go through long periods of time where he is considered cruel and relentless, even to his men and fellow captains. These streaks of cruelty are usually sparked by a new discovery that Masaru can't help but grow obsessed with.

This was because of his vast interest in anything new and his continuous desire to learn how it functioned. Though, skill wise, Masaru was weak and feeble. In battle he relied on his intellect more than most others and was often successful in trapping large opposing force's. However, because of his vast knowledge, he was kept within the Headquarters so that he could aid with the research and development aspect.
Over the years, Masaru was promoted to Lieutenant and aided his captain to a higher degree. Always seeming friendly, always polite. However, during the Urufu experimentations, Masaru grew obsessed and quickly grew cruel towards all around him, even his captain. He began doing research to find out just how far he could take the subject without it dying. Test after test, study after study. Masaru began taking the Urufu experiments to such a horrible height that it seemed he would never stop.
However, after sometime, the Urufu Project was dismissed. At that time, Masaru seemed to have come to his senses. Following his orders without argument, he helped in the process of annhilating all the unwanted beast. But he couldn't leave his obsession to rest. In the process of slaying the Urufu's, Masaru kept blood, skin, hair, saliva, and organ sample's so that he could continue his research, unknown to his captain or any other. In his obsessive state, Masaru did what no other shinigami is believed to have done. He experimented with his zanpakuto.
After countless tests to discover how far he could take the Urufu genetic code, he finally discovered a way to sync it with nearly any substance. With that discovery, curiosity overtook him. What if I could create the most fearful weapon? What if I crossed my zanpakuto with Urufu DNA? Question after question rose in his head as he began merging the two. However, before he could do this, he had to make sure that no one remembered anything about his zanpakuto and its current abilities. For days he began questioning fellow shinigami if he had ever shown them his zanpakuto. Every time he received the same answer. No. Masaru was happy with himself for not showing anyone his swords true form. However, on one slightly cloudy day in Soul Society, he decided to ask his captain the same question. To his dismay, the reply was "Yes".
Of all people, it had to be the captain!? he would repeat to himself again and again over the course of the next few months. During this time, Masaru was hard at work plotting his Captain's downfall. Poison,heart attack, "accidental accident", flesh disease, organ disease. So many possibilities, but too many gaps. Each one almost had a guaranteed path that would lead anyone whom was from the 12th Division directly to him. How could he take down someone whom had such a high ranking? His question was answered the next day.
Late in the afternoon, the entire Research & Development received horrible news. Their captain had been sent to slay a Hollow that apparently could emit toxic fumes from its own body. These fumes had caused several shinigami whom had inhaled it to die from heart failure. According to the report, the captain had managed to avoid direct inhalation of these fumes by wearing a specially designed mask created so that it covered the entire head of the wearer, thus allowing complete protection from hazardous fumes and reiatsu that could act as a toxic. This was one of Nikui Masaru's first invention's. Apparently, the mask had become battle damaged and an unnoticeable piece had fallen from the mask. By the time the Captain had returned, the toxins had taken affect. After the death was announced, Masaru was the only person smiling.
Following the 12th Division Captains downfall, application's for a new captain were sent out to all experienced shinigami. Having completed the fusion between his zanpakuto and samples of Urufu DNA, Masaru gladly applied. Out of all the applicant's, Masaru showed the highest qualities for the position. With satisfaction that they had found a suitable follower, fellow captains greeted Nikui Masaru with welcome hands. Though Masaru was a favored asset to the Gotei 13, many were still questionable on many of his tactics. Thus far, Masaru has been noticeably different since attaining his position as captain. Though he remains kind and gentle, there are times when it seems he'd rather bisect his fellow captains. Thus giving him the nickname, Atamagaokashii Masaru.
Zanpakuto
Name: Akkiurufu (Devil Wolf)
Description: Resembles a katana. The only difference is that the guard splits off into eight spikes.
-Shikai: Nyuumetsu Akkiurufu (Dying Devil Wolf) -- In this stage, the blade alters so that it spirals at the base. The spiked quard lengthens so that each spike measures near one foot each.
-Bankai: Gure-Tosatsu Akkiurufu (Grey Slaughter Devil Wolf) -- In this stage, the handle becomes a spine that extends to the tip of the sword. The blade becomes nothing more that sharp fangs that extend from the spine outwards. And the guard becoms a large patch of grey fur.
Spirit Description: Akkiurufu is a 14 foot tall beast. Its dark gray skin clenches its bone and patches of gray fur scattered over its body. Jagged pieces of bone extend from its body in various places. Most notably in the knuckles. Both its arms and legs measure six feet each and his long skeleton-like hands and feet measure three feet each. His head resembles a wolves, with the fur seemingly burnt off, leaving small patches like the one's on its body. Several sharp bones pierce the flesh around its neck, almost as if they were holding its head on.
Attacks:
Ebisu Houkou (Savage Roar) -- By simple gathering a small bit of reiatsu within Akkiurufu, Masaru can launch a massive spiritual blast at the target that resembles thousands of wolf-like fangs. {Can only be used with Nyuumetsu Akkiurufu/Shikai mode}
Akakadou Jiboujiki(Blood Vortex of Despair) -- Each fang on Gure-Tosatsu Akkiurufu launches itself as it is slashed through the air. They quickly drive themselves into the target and release a toxin into the opponents blood system. This toxin targets the brain and causes the injected party to hallucinate. What they see will be whatever it is they fear the most. After injecting the toxins, the fangs reattach themselves to the spine of Gure-Tosatsu Akkiurufu. {This technique is only usable with Gure-Tosatsu Akkiurufu/Bankai mode}
Passive Abilities: Akkiurufu has two abilities, both simple, that can be used while in any form. The first ability is retrieving blood samples from whatever it cuts. The blood runs down the blade and is stored in the handle. {Obviously a "must" for Nikui Masaru)
