Serus nodded in understanding as the girl spoke and explained that she didn't really know at all. The sensation of being watched faded and her eyes settled back on Eva.
When Eva asked about how to obtain the information that could help her figure out who she was, Serus fiddled with her chopsticks for a bit before answering. "I could ask...but they would want to know why I'm even there. For all they know, I'm mainly interested in executing people and that I'm not very interested in the science and information division." Serus placed her chopsticks on top of her teacup and at this, a maid came in and gathered the empty dishes.
As soon as the maid left, Serus began to play with her katana by placing it on the table and fiddling with the handle a bit. "I would also need information to start me off."

E.V.A. placed her face into her open palms as her hair fell over her hands as she pondered the possibility of what it would take to retrieve those lost documents. She would remian in her hunched over posture for several minutes as the servant's went away with the utensils. As she heard the last maid exit, she let her fingers left the thin contour of her face, as they ran through her emerald hair, her eyes fluttering towards Serus once again.
"I have no intention of taking anything more than the documents I require, so Soul Society would not be in any potential danger. I'm not too sure how I could obtain entrance, other than shifting my appearance to that of a Shinigami and infiltrating from their inner ranks, but I have not the blade nor the uniform, so I'm sure you can understand where I'm going with this.."
E.V.A. let out a sigh as her solemn expression nodded gently to Serus' next words. ""Yes, I will provide any information you require in gratitude, but I am not very knowledgeable in most areas, so I doubt it will be of any assistance."

Serus watched Eva as she was hunched over, her hands covering her face. What they were trying to do would be quite dangerous, especially if they were caught, but why not help someone who just so happened to wander into her property at the right moment? It could be destiny speaking to her.
When Eva spoke about what could be done, Serus understood that it would put them both at risk. She didn't like this, but if she was going to help this girl out, then some risks would need to be taken. "I can lend you my old uniform, from when I was a student. For the sword...I have a practice katana that you can carry around. It's common for low level students to carry a wooden sword."
"For you to get in...I will arrange one of my underlings to escort you to the data base. Classes require a student to somewhat be familiar with the equipment so all you will need to hide behind is a mere school project." Serus shifted a bit and then stood up, her sword held gracefully in her hands in front of her. "If you get caught," Serus sighed, "just tell them my name and I will deal with it. But do not resort to any kind of hostility or you will be viewed as an enemy to Soul Society and that's not a very good place to be." She said silently.

Pulling her hair back, E.V.A. let what could best be put as a smile crossed her face as the color seemed to fade away, her hair becoming white as she continued to fiddle with it, her fingers carressing the split ends that had begun to form as her eyes remained fixated on Serus. "Hmm, I suppose something like that could do, I could easily manipulate the wooden sword to make it feel more like an actual zanpaktou suited to my tastes and natural abilities." As she removed her left hand from her head, she placed it in front of her, as a flower resembling a white lotus formed in her opened palm. "I have my own unique traits which do not require the use of a blade or any source of catalyst aside from my body, this flower is an example. The petals on this beautiful miracle of nature are sharp and will cut much like a zanpaktou should I feel threatened." Lossening the sash on her kimono, she let the upper area of the garb fall down just enough to expose her shoulders, which possessed an unusual moss growing in patches amongst her ghostly pale flesh which was covered in various cuts and layers of scar tissue. "I have multiple defenses due to this living being inhabiting this body, so you needn't worry about me. All I require are those documents and a means of entry into Sereitei. So I'll accept your gracious offer, the only thing I'm concerned about is what you wish to achieve out of this."

Serus watched as a lotus flower bloomed in the girl's hand with some interest flickering in her eyes. Eva informed her that the petals could easily cut through a zanpakutou and that made her think. This girl coud possibly just kill Serus right there if she wanted to. This should be proof enough to her that this girl wasn't the type to look for blood.
She nodded lightly as the girl showed her more of what she could do. Serus was extremely curious as to who this girl was. She could be severely dangerous to the Soul Society if Eva didn't have someone to keep her on a tight leash. She waved the thought away, her eyes wandering back over to the door.
In a blink of an eye, Serus stood up and went over to the door. Her blade was no longer on the table, but unsheathed and in her right hand. With her left hand, she forced the sliding door open with a loud 'klack' and placed the smooth metal against a maid's slender neck. The maid backed away, but Serus merely followed her till her back was pressed up against the wall.
Her hand twitched and a little blood peeked out from in between the girl's neck and the blade. The maid made a small noise of fear and shut her eyes. "Never again." Serus said softly as she slipped back into the room, slammed the door shut and turned towards Eva.
"I wish to acheive a trusty assistant who will be loyal to me to the end. Someone unique..." Serus stopped and sheathed her sword. She didn't quite know where she was going with this. Why had she said this all of a sudden? Serus glanced at Eva for a moment and then her eyes slid to somewhere else. "You may refuse if you please."

E.V.A.'s eyes watched the lotus formed in her hand, as her fingers closed in on the flower crushing it as spores were released upon the destruction of the fragile lifeform, her eyes drifting upward as she watched Serus get up and move towards the door, which apparently had held another coniving maid trying to eavesdrop.
E.V.A. had to admit, she was rather impressed with the way the Shinigami Captain composed herself, although the next thing that ushered out from the Captain's lips nearly took E.V.A. aback, as it was the last request she had been expecting. Serus had just thrown out a rather unsubtle hint as to her intention, to have E.V.A. herself as a suboordinate... "Hmm...." It was the only response that crossed her mind. It was a rather large request, but E.V.A. had to see where such a decision wpuld take her. As of the moment, she originally snuck into this area for the foliage outside and possibly some scraps that would have been thrown out. This woman had fed her and now even offered her a position that could surpass the peasant's lowly life she had been living, where she had been trampled on by every other soul passing by. It would be a foolish decision not to take up the offer, as E.V.A. found herself nodding to the offer. "I accept your humble proposal in exchange for the generosity you have bestowed upon me. I have naught to look forward to in the life I live now, so perhaps this would be a step more beneficial."

Serus felt her lips curl upwards slightly as Eva gave her answer, but she soon cleared her throat and the sign of happiness vanished. "Are you sure you want to agree to this contract?" She asked. She wouldn't normally, but it was something that would change both of their lives drastically.
She looked at Eva and observed the girl. To gain a life, only to give it to someone else. That was what came to mind in this situation. Either way, once Eva was her subordinate, perhaps her heart would soften?

E.V.A.'s eyes remained locked with Serus' as she slowly nodded her head. "I have nothing in the Rukongai that I am aware of, so a change of scenery would be preferable. That, and I've always been a bit curious as far as combat is concerned, so I wish to grow stronger and see the true limits of my body in effect. I see no better alternative than with a Shinigami Captain. Other than that, most action I would see in the Rukongai would be the gang violence which has become more discreet as of late, so in return for assisting me in locating the records I require, I pledge my abilities in your service, Taicho." E.V.A. face showed very little change as her head tilted forward in a bow. She wasn't used to these formal traditions, so she was trying to replicate them as best as she could given that which she had seen done before.

Serus bowed deeply when Eva had finished speaking and bowed to her. She was truly thankful for this girl's logic and how she weighed her options before commiting to something. Serus liked the fact that Eva wasn't very afraid to make a decision either.
"Thank you Eva." Serus said a little more warmly than she meant to. She then began to head to the door and only glanced back at Eva to let her know that it was decided. She slid the door open gracefully and motioned for Eva to follow her.
She took them both down a few hallways and then opened another door to reveal a storage room with a lot of shelves in it. Serus entered and then soon found old uniforms and a few practice swords.

E.V.A.'s eyes trailed after Serus as she got up, making her way to the door. Seeing a small gesture come from the taicho that most likely was a beckoning, E.V.A. pulled herself to her feet, maneuvering herself to the Shinigami's side as Serus opened the door. Pulling the door shut behind her, she turned back towards the Captain, quickly minimizing the distance that had gathered between them with a few bounds, her golden sash fluttering loosely behind her as her gaze was cast into the room Serus had gone into curiously.
Making her way cautiously into the room, E.V.A. noticed it to be a closet of sorts, the uniforms folded upon the shelves neatly, although she doubted any of them had seen use recently. Pulling one off its shelf, she let the garment unfold to the ground, as she analyzed the seams of the yukata. It would be difficult to use some of her preferred abilities in the robes, but she could probably make do with the uniform until she had a chance to manipulate the threads or get a new one. Throwing the yukata over her shoulder, E.V.A. reached down to pick up one of the wooden swords, as she swung it through the air, narrowly missing one of the shelves as she brought it close to her face to examine the craftsmanship, namely the direction of the grain and the precision at which the blade had been cut. "I suppose this would work," she would mutter rather casually, as thin tendrils shot out from under her sleeves, wrapping themselves around the wooden utensil, digging into the grain. Such a blade created from natural materials would probably be best for her.

Serus watched as Eva looked over the materials presented to her. She didn't quite know why she couldn't just arrange for Eva to go in, as herself, and find out who she was. Those scientists did, however, have a sketchy way about them. There was no way of knowing what Eva's past was, and if it would cause for the Soul Society to want to capture her.
Serus was glad that the supplies she hadshown Eva, would do. It was interesting to see what Eva did next, with all of the tendrils. There was much to learn about this girl, but Serus decided that she could trust her, for now. "Good. Now, I suppose you do not have a current residence to stay at..." Serus paused. This was strange to have a guest in her house in such a long time. "So, I will have a room prepared for you."
As she said this, Serus began to walk out of the room. Before she headed down the hallway again she turned her head a bit so that Eva could hear her. "Feel free to...explore." At this, Serus was gone, off to find someone to prepare a room for Eva to stay in.

As E.V.A. continued to observe the blade, now coated in a layer of the tendrils, now strongly resembling moss as small flowers began to form across the surface. In a way, it was a method to fuse and become one with the weapon. If the weapon contained the same parasite her body did, she would be able to better harnass the true potential of the wooden material.
She listened to Serus halfheartedly, as her head bowed down to the Captain's hospitality in a display of gratitude. It was unusual for anyone to sympathize with her, let alone allow her to stay among them. It was yet another debt she would owe to the Taicho. As her head hung low, she could only let the word "Arigato," slip out from between her lips.
As her head rose, she found the Captain had left, the last words of the shinigami granting her free exploration of the estate. Contemplating to herself, she found herself drifting back towards the direction of the garden she had first intruded in from. It was only natural, as E.V.A. found an odd source of serenity amongst the vegetation. Perhaps it was the fact she could manipulate majority of the plants to defend her. Or more likely, it was the rationalization that plants were unjudging, and made for better company than most of the folk she had met. It was only a brief moment before E.V.A. felt that same soft soil in between her toes. As she relished the feeling, she let loose several spores from her body, a carpet of lilies slowly forming around her ankles.

Serus didn't have to walk very far before running into the caretaker of her home. She let him know that there would be a new permanant residant and that he needed to arrange a room for Eva. He bowed deeply, the top of his balding head speckled with freckles.
He soon scurried off to fulfill her wish and Serus returned to the storage room. She knew Eva wouldn't be there any longer, but she wanted to check just in case. She soon found Eva standing among a blanket of lillies that surrounded her. It was quite a beautiful sight, and Serus felt compelled to keep the Soul Society's hand off of her, if she could help it.

E.V.A knelt down into the floral bed, letting the sweet fragrance fill her nostrils as she inhaled the sweet vapor, her fingers caressing the flowers as her fingers slid over the stem, gently making their way to the petals as her nails massaged the aromatic beauties before her. Standing back up, fingers left the stalks of the lilies, as she felt the familiar presence enter the garden, her lips forming the words "Taicho..." before turning her head around slowly to look at the Captain.

Eva looked quite peaceful in her movements. All natural, nothing forced. It seemed that having Eva around made her own mind settle. It was a nice feeling, a warm one.
It felt strange to feel attatched to someone just moments after meeting them, but perhaps this was a good thing? Eva stood up and called her out before turning to meet her gaze. Serus stood just otside the circle of lillies and nodded. "Does this place suit you?" Serus asked softly.
Perhaps it was a bad idea. Eva being there seeme to crumble Serus' hard exterior. A trickle of emotions that were shut off long ago seemed to fill her heart once more. It almost hurt. Most of these feelings she had forgotten in her past. Most of these feelings uprooted hazy memories burrowed deep within her soul.

E.V.A.'s gaze met with the woman who would now be her superior, yet even though her mismatched eyes were upon Serus, they seemed distant as though looking through her much like an apparition. Her hair fluttered behind her, still a light green as it flowed through the breeze that had just picked up, her face unusually calm and tranquil. Everything seemed odd to her, as though these images were something else cast forth by her delusions, yet at the same time, she knew it to be reality, which granted her an odd sensation building up inside her body. She was unfamiliar with it, yet she welcomed it for it wasn't a terrible feeling but more of a warm nature.
As E.V.A. watched the Captain, after a long pause she finally spoke, her voice as drifting and dreamlike as her features. "I don't know, I've never experienced a place such as this... I suppose it does, yet I'm not too sure."

Serus nodded at Eva's response. She could understand that everything was quite new to her and how she might possibly be confused. She turned her head a bit to the presence that came closer.
The old man was walking rather casually towards them, his head bowed slightly. Once the man reached them, he bowed deeply and looked up at Serus. "The room is ready." He said in his raspy voice. He then turned and started heading back to the house with long strides.
She glanced at Eva for her to follow, and soon were back in the house. The man lead them down a few hallways and stopped in front of a door with a sakura flower painted on it the size of a quarter. He opened the door and left them to inspect the room. Serus lead the way in and waited for Eva to enter.

EVa's gaze would continue to waver, mainly towards the Captain's vicinity, hovering towards the man who had just entered the area, his head hung low, the balding top shown clearly amidst his worn face.
As she watched the man leave, she noticed the small gesture Serus had made to her. She slowly nodded, following the Captain back into the house. The taicho led her through a few hallways, as E.V.A.'s fingers twiddled nervously, hidden in her sleeves as they came to a halt at one of the doors. She paid enough attention to notice the small emblem emblazoned on the door, before walking inside after Serus, curious as to what her new quarters may look like.

The room was quite old fashioned and the floor was matted with bamdoo weavings. The room seemed to have a golden theme to it as one looked around. It was a reasonable sized room with one wall composing of windows, with sliding rice paper doors tinted black if one wanted privacy or less lighting. Another wall lead to a large closet where the bedding mats and blankets would be, hidden by beautifully painted sliding doors. In one corner of the room there was a cherry wood coffee table with seat cushions stacked to make a comfortable place to sit. Serus walked to the center of the room and then looked back to Eva. "What do you think?" She said smoothly, her hair sliding off her shoulder. E.V.A.'s eyes drifted over every last detail of the room, reveling in what was bestowed upon such a common girl. Her right hand would reach up and touch the wall, her finger trailing across the bamboo as a crackling sound was heard. Her finger left the walls as she eyed the wooden table, her body hunkering down onto all fours as her eyes analyzed the grains of the wood, her face mere inches from the surface of the table. Seeming content with the table, she pulled herself back to her feet, as she bowed towards Serus, her eyes steadily shifting to another hue, this time a steel blue speckled with streaks of grey as she glanced through her forest green locks at Serus.
"Serus-sama...."
The feeling from before was bubbling up once again, moreso than previously, as the warm emotion swept over her body in a emotional embrace. She was truely grateful to the Shinigami Captain, although she could not find the right words to sufficiently describe how she felt at the moment. Perhaps this was what it meant to be happy for once. ".....I love it."
