El Dia... a long abandoned and mostly forgotten ruin stood stubbornly among the silver sands of the desert. Nero had made his way to a ledge perched on top of the rubble of a destroyed wall... here he sat cross legged in quiet contemplation, staring out into the vastness of the sand. It was one of the rare few places in existence where Nero could feel at peace... the silence was only broken by the occasional breeze that gently swept past the Primera Espada.
Nero sat here... contemplating the fate of the ruins itself and the ghosts it harbored deep within it's crumbling walls. He also watched the occasional hollow pouncing on it's prey. Nero saw where Karzan's discontent with it all was coming from... he understood the frustration his lord felt for he felt the same. It was all the same... Hueco Mundo was in a constant, looping cycle and it was about time something changed.

Brago walked through the desolate ruins of El Dia his eyes scanning across the destruction that had lay upon this land. He watched the sands blow across the destroyed buildings. As the last gust blew he caught the feeling of the Primera Espada. Closing the distance he came up on Nero's back and watched him sitting on the wall staring out into the sands. What vexes you Brother that would make you sit and stare at the vast nothingness that is this barren place? Brago pulled an all white box from his pocket pulling a single rolled stick from its confines. He placed the stick between his lips and forming a bala on the end of his finger he lit the cigarette and inhaled deeply. Dropping the bala he exhaled the smoke escaping his lips. Would you like one? He offered the blank pack to Nero.

"Look at it... look at it all. It's the same sight I've been watching for nearly seven hundred years... endless sand. Endless feeding..." Nero's eyes didn't diverge from the view of Hueco Mundo as Brago appeared. "What there isn't any of is change... nothing changes here... power shifts from one being to another but nothing has ever swayed our fate to something more." He began to think back upon his life... when he himself was stalking his own prey across dunes of sand. It now seemed like a distant dream more than a memory. "We've broken the bond of our hunger... we've developed the ability to understand... we've shed ourselves of the ignorance that the hollow have. But for what..."
Nero remained seated as his eyes peered out to the two hollow fighting off in the distance, one overtaking the other and devouring it. "You said you wanted power... power to surpass all others. Have you ever stopped to think why you wanted it in the first place? What good is having rule over a land when the land is... this?" His arm outstretched towards the sands in gesture as he finished his question. "There's nothing out here except the same damn thing... I have no interest in holding dominion over such filth and trash." He brought his arm back down as he continued to speak. "If you dont have power you have nothing... if you have power over Hueco Mundo... you still have nothing. Sure you can escape to the human realm... you'll be forced back eventually. We always are..."
Nero would then look to Brago holding out some sort of white stick... paper wrapping something brown. "What is this?" He would ask as he took it from his hand. It had a strange smell to it.

Brago hopped up and sat beside Nero his placement close enough to hear but far enough away to not invade Nero's personal space. Indeed as it is now it is nothing but a barren wasteland but with the right person in charge that can be changed. We can bring all those beneath us to heel. We can change things we need only to will it and posses the power to do it. We can change things. Maybe not in this time of ruling or the next but eventually it will change. All things do with time. We can destroy our enemies and take over there lands if we must. Or if nothing else why not create our own world. I have once read of a realm that originally did not exist and thru sheer will was forced into creation. The beings behind it were powerful but due to internal quarreling and external threats they collapsed upon themselves. We are family we could do the same thing could we not?
Brago placed the white box back in his pocket and igniting a bala on the end of his finger lit the cigarette in Nero's hand. It is something people in the human realm call a cigarette. I am not completely sure of its purpose but it gives a good relaxing kick when you need it. He took another big pull on the cigarette watching the small flame at the end of it burn down the stick slightly leaving nothing but ash in its wake. This cigarette is similar to our society now. We burn destroy and fight and soon nothing will be left but ashes to be scattered across the winds.[/i]

As Nero took his first drag of this cigarette he coughed a few times, being unaware of the nature of this... thing. But as he continued the coughing ceased and this feeling Brago mentioned took effect. However his mind remained on the topic at hand. "I believe that we already have that right person Brago... something big is on the horizon for us... I can feel it... as if it were something material and could be handled just like sand." Nero continued to puff on the cigarette, now fully acclimated to it's effects.
"What do you think of the one called Kyoshin?" He would ask quizzically.

Brago looked down at the sands beneath them as he thought on Kyoshin. To be honest i am not entirely sure. He once asked me if i would follow him. At the time it didnt seem a bad idea but now? I have seen our kin slain with no more regret than the slaying of a mouse. My perspective on the world has changed. I wont say i disagree with all of his ideals but some are just beyond extreme. Though that is to be expected with everyone that is to be seen as zealot. What of you brother what are your thoughts on him?[/i] Brago looked up at Nero and pulled again on his cigarette the smoke filling his lungs before he exhaled.

"He is and always will be unfit to rule." Nero simply said as he stood up. "Although much time has passed since he was banished to privaron state... he hasn't changed. His type never do... and if he were to somehow acquire the throne... it would lead to our demise. I promise you that."
Nero turned and took a couple steps to view the rest of the ruins. "Karzan knows what he's doing... he seeks the change I wish to happen. If there was anything I was sure about... it is his path I believe in... not the self centered tirade of a loose tongue that is Kyoshin." The primera spoke again of Karzan as if he knew more than the others like Brago realized which would be a rather curious thing.

Brago hopped down from the wall as well following closely behind Nero. Agreed his rule shall never bring good to our world. However if Karzan were to fall who would pick up the mantle and with it this dream that you speak of. Perhaps it will be one of us. If you were to pick it up i would follow you. If i were to pick it up i fear few would follow me without fear being a part of the equation. But enough talk of succession explain this dream and path that you hint at so regularly it is as if it should common knowledge.[/i] Brago took a final drag from his cigarette and stomped it out with the toe of his foot before sticking his hands in his pockets. He was intrigued by this dream while also worried for the future of his brothers and sisters.

"Dream? No... I speak of knowing the depth of lord Karzan's resolve and determination." Nero turned to face Brago whilst he spoke. "When he discovered me long ago in the sands I was but a slumbering dragon. He awoke me and presented me the offer to follow him. I challenged him with an offer of my own... to tame me or perish. He accepted..."
He turned his gaze back to the dunes once more as if he were reminiscing... which was true. "We fought the battle before hordes of hollow and a few of the espada at that time... Kyoshin being one of them. To make a long story short... he almost died by my hand. However even when facing certain death... even when death's grip tightened around him... he held on... and through sheer determination and will... he held on. Karzan managed to do what many have tried to do and failed." Nero turned back to Brago.
"That is why I follow him willingly and loyally. He proved himself worthy of not only the throne... but of me as well. Whatever he is planning I will support with every fiber of my being. Whoever wishes to contest him will have to face me as well. As for taking the throne myself... I have no interest in doing so. The position of Lord of the Deep is one that I do not want. But it is one that, should Karzan somehow fall, I will defend against any that wishes to take it for themselves. Just because they want it doesnt mean they deserve it or me. And so it stands."

Brago nodded as he listened to Nero. I see so what is to be our next step? He looked out into the sands and watched as a group of hollows turned on each other the battle growing more vicious as it went. Finally one stood above the corpses of the others. So then how do we end this vicious cycle of devouring and power mongering.[/i]
