"Rose..." Kyoshin said softly, surprised by her sudden embrace but overwhelmed by how right it felt. His arms made their way around her, and for a moment his lips would be drawing close to hers, when she pulled away. Once again, she was rejecting him...
She repeated what she'd said earlier, how Arrancar couldn't be attached, couldn't rely on each other, couldn't love each other. What he'd known all of his life serving under Karzan. Then it was back to giving Karzan another chance, showing blind loyalty and hoping things would be better for them. 'Better how?' he wanted to demand, but he stayed silent as she continued drifting away. Stay safe, she said. "You, too."
He stood there, practically shaking, as feelings he didn't understand built up inside of him. Why, why wouldn't she be close to him? What were they all fighting for? What would Karzan's ideals lead them to? What would winning his war give the Espada? Was it so they could be 'strong', and stay stoic and isolated? What was power for, if strength meant you couldn't trust anyone?
Suddenly his fist swung and he smashed a column, the confused feelings inside him quickly converting to rage. He promised Rose he wouldn't rebel, that he'd keep their 'family' together, that he'd fight for victory along with the rest of the Espada. But if this what was victory brought him... Then he didn't want it. He swung again, this time up against a wall, which cracked upon impact, small fissures spreading the length of the solid rock. But it wasn't enough. He hit it again. More cracks. Again. A few chunks fell. Now it was both his fists, his kicks, even his head, smashing against the wall with all his might.
Then, finally, the thing collapsed, and so did he. On his knees, his old wounds reopened and new ones made, still shaking.
[Finish]
