He never though he would see the day...but he had finally finished his research into Reiatsu Manipulation. His contact with Clyde, and the information on Human abilities contributed to the database as part of the deal the new Captain Commander had made with the Humans, had allowed him to come up with a concrete, replicable process for manipulating Spiritual Pressure to great extremes without the aid of a Zanpaktou or Kido spells.
He was surprised at how simple the solution had been, especially when he considered his own Sumashuyochi manipulated his Reiatsu. It was just a matter of keeping yourself tethered to the Reiatsu you released, and using the tether to add pressure and push it in the desired directions. This could be used to create a variety of effects, including abilities that mimic the typical effects of telekinesis, and redirection of enemy attacks.
"I'll have to thank the Alchemist who approached Captain Commander Rokujo with that deal," Azerik said as he added his findings to the database from his personal computer terminal, "I'm sure Clyde would pass along a message if I asked him too."
Walking to the other side of the room, Azerik began to rummage through a pile of discarded devices. Among the junk was a pair of metal bracers, engraved with the Kanji "Repel Reiatsu", and several wires lacing the inside, similar to the bracer that consisted the main body of his Reiatsu Shield device. With his research complete, he could finally finish this project, what he had originally been working on when he had developed his Shield device, bracers that could repel Reiatsu in specific directions, at the users will. He had tossed aside the project after some failed tests, but his encounter with the boy Clyde had given him a new perspective on what he needed to do to apply the Reiatsu manipulation he was looking for. Using the same method he had with the shield, Azerik would bond the bracers semi-permanently to his arms, to ensure maximum synch with his thought patterns, and program the device to simply apply his reiatsu in bursts, rather than to try and outright control the reiatsu in a constant flow. The bursts would come as fast as his thoughts, making the control just as fluid as if he was controlling a constant stream of energy.
"Time to make the tweaks," Azerik said with a grin as he pulled a screwdriver out of his shihakushou. He wasted no time in making the adjustments, working furiously so that he could test the devices and approve them for combat. This would of course leave his shield obsolete...but had plans for that.
