A Human's Belief. (Humans & Quincys/invite)

[Ryoko Ishii]

Ryoko stared at the ground where the tongue of the hollow had struck and then looked back at the hollow to see that it had managed to move from her attack. It had been able to close its mouth and dodge her attack, which hit the ceiling instead. She watched the hollow fall onto the ground making the floor beneath him collapse and Clyde followed after it jumping down the hole. She couldn't see what was going on since she was above them and no where near the whole that had been created. She walked over to the whole when she thought she heard a thud from below and looked down it scoping it out before she would decide to even jump down.

Ryoko didn't want to land on the hollow or her ally so looking before following had been a good plan or at least she had thought so. She heard the loud stomping of the hollow as it charged but she couldn't see it because it was pretty dark down there and she figured that he had been charging Clyde for attacking him. She heard the grind of the hollow's tail into the floor only it was the ceiling to him and the next thing she knew she was falling down from her level. She growled at what the hollow said as she landed on the floor below her and she looked around the room to collect her surroundings. She figured they were in the basement level of the hospital and she continued to look around some more spotting Clyde as he charged at the hollow.

"Ears!" Ryoko yelled at her ally shortening her warning of cover your ears as she aimed at the hollow. "Ya no Danmaku!" She continued shouting the name of the same attack she had tried to use on the hollow earlier that would split then explode.

"Crescent Slash!" Clyde yelled as he charged towards the hollow, swinging his weapon down at the ground and then upward into the air, sending a blast of his reiatsu at the creature's side around the same general area that Ryoko would fire her arrow. After he finished the motion of swinging his weapon he brought both his hands up and covered his ears from the resulting explosion and sound of their attacks. The hollow, being as big as it was could not possible move out of the way of both attacks so it instead tilted its back towards both to absorb most of the damage behind them. With his back having the most protection, the damage was severely reduced leaving only a few more burns and scratch's. The explosion behind their combined attack pushed him back against the wall, but he managed to stay on his feet this time.

"Heh heh heh..." It laughed as its cloak went over it again, becoming invisible both to sight and reiatsu senses. For some time there was silence, until its laugh returned now louder than ever to mask its movements better as it ran up alongside the closest wall to it. "Ryaaaaah!" It's voice screeched out as its large maw opened again, its tongue shooting out towards Ryoko aiming to skewer her. Before it could reach however Clyde jumped forward and cut the tongue in half with a quick slash of his weapon.

The piece that was going to attack Ryoko fell to the ground with a splat, squirming around with some life still in it. Much to their surprise however the piece of his tongue expanded with reiatsu out of nowhere until literally exploding into sludge everywhere, hitting Clyde on his right arm and leg, and Ryoko on just her right arm, as if it was targeting those specific limbs. What was even more surprising was when Clyde tried to lift his right arm and have huge difficulty doing so, like his arm weighed an extra 50 pounds...For Ryoko, she would find the same for her arm as well, making it much more difficult for her to aim her bow.

"Hahahaha...fell for my biggest trap." The hollow laughed as the remainder of its tongue returned to its mouth. "My blood is toxic to humans, the more of it that touches your body the less responsive it becomes! With the amount of blood on those limbs of yours I imagine they feel quite heavy right now!" He laughed again leaping from the wall at the two, removing his cloak just so that the two could see his large hands smack into both of them, sending Clyde and Ryoko into the backside of the room and crashing against the wall. "Augh...this isn't good..." The human boy said after recovering from the attack, he tried to get back onto two feet but because a lot of the hollows blood hit his right leg his speed was severely crippled.

Ryoko heard Clyde yell out the name of his attack sending it to the same place that she had launched her arrows and watched as the attack was batted away. The hollow had used its tail to absorb their attacks and it left nothing but burns and scratches. Her thoughts sped into action as she saw the result of this and it made her feel a bit awful for not figuring this out before hand. The hollow had been intentionally hitting them with its tail and had taken little to no damage in doing so, which meant that if they kept aiming at its tail they would get nowhere fast. She escaped from her thoughts at the sound of the hollow's laugh and she looked up just in time to see it disappear, however, she wasn't expecting it to appear near her let alone try to skewer her with its tongue.

Ryoko didn't have enough time to dodge and she was very lucky that Clyde had had enough time to jump forward and cut the tongue in half. She looked at Clyde with thanks lingering in her eyes and then she looked down at the tongue that had landed near her as it squirmed on the ground. Her dark purple eyes widened in surprise when it started to expand and exploded leaving sludge on her right arm and on Clyde too although the most surprise came when she couldn't lift her arm with out trouble. She glared in the direction she heard the hollow's mocking voice came from and went flying when the hollow smacked them with its hands. She groaned when she hit the wall grabbing her head afterwards and she stood up blinking a few times to rid the blurriness in her eyes. She looked over at Clyde when she heard him say this wasn't good and helped him up since he was having some difficulty.

"I figured something out though. The attacks we make leave nothing but scratches when we aim for his tail and back but what about his stomach. We haven't tried that yet and it seems he reacted fast when I tried to fire an arrow into his mouth." Ryoko whispered to Clyde. "But if that true I'll need help aiming at him." She continued referring to her right arm.

Clyde accepted Ryoko's help to get back to his feet, he placed his arm over her shoulder for support as his right side was nearly paralyzed. He was thankful he was not fighting this thing alone. The young man whispered back, "He also struggled to get back on his feet when he was on his back, when his stomach was completely exposed...maybe you're onto something here." The boy nodded in agreement to her realization, though he kept his eyes on the hollow, watching to see its next move. "With my right arm the way it is your arrows are our only chance. Luckily I still have my left arm...it's gonna be a bit awkward to hold, but we're gonna have to use that bow with two left hands." He said as he positioned himself to grab onto the the bow, guiding her arm using his own, he would hold the weapon and aim it...she would have to be the one to fire it.

"I love it when my food struggles, seeing your panic stricken faces...it just makes the meal so much more satisfying." The hollow landed back on all fours as it approached them, not even bothering to conceal itself this time. He could not help but laugh as the two prepared some kind of offense together now. "Heh heh, isn't that just special..." He mocked the two, unaware of any plan they had as he went into a full on sprint, aiming to ram them in the wall and crush them. "This is the end for you now kiddies!" He roared as he went at them.

"We're only gonna have enough time for one...let's show him just how strong we humans are." Clyde said as he focused completely on the area just beneath the hollows head, guiding Ryoko and her bow to that spot, if they could get her arrows to hit right there his stomach would be completely exposed. As he aimed Ryoko would feel a surge of power leaving the boy's right arm and traveling over Ryoko and into her bow. "It may be numb, but I can still control the reiatsu in it...I'm using my power to generate a lot of reiatsu to you...make it count." He whispered as he placed the bow exactly where it needed to be, Ryoko just needed to pick the right attack. As her left hand would create the arrow she'd feel much more energy in it than before, even in size it was nearly twice as big...with enough power that it would be like firing five of her arrows in one shot. She would have to fire quickly though as the hollow got within striking distance, moving to finish them off.

Ryoko glared at the hollow as Clyde used her shoulder for support and thoughts of protecting her ally and defeating the horrid creature was all that filled her mind. She didn't take to kindly to hollow's hurting those around her and she wouldn't allow the hollow to continue on the path it had chosen; otherwise their deaths would been in vain. She nodded when Clyde made note of the hollow's earlier actions and she nodded again when he said that they would have to use the bow with two left hands; it was would a little difficult but nothing she couldn't handle. She allowed Clyde to guide her right arm that held her bow so he could aim it at the hollow and smirked at the hollow's words. "It's cute. Cute how you think we're panic stricken. Have you seen the look on my face? I would think it's quite the opposite." She said taunting the hollow with smile planted on her face and she laughed in its attempt at mocking them, smiling in the face of danger.

A small grin appeared on Ryoko's face at Clyde's words and she looked at him out of the corner of her eye. "Thought you'd never say that." Ryoko had noticed that with Clyde helping her aim her arrow and his other arm nearly paralyzed he wouldn't be able to cover his ears to protect himself from the sound waves. She turned her body slightly to face him and slid her left hand over his ears in two simple movements of it; she'd protect his ears from harm with her own reiatsu. She nodded at his next words and put her eyes back on to the hollow, a smile still on her face. She placed her left hand on her bow and pulled the arrow back.

"Ya no Danmaku!" Ryoko shouted out the name of the attack as the arrow shot forward towards the hollow knowing this attack would be the best because with Clyde's little boost it would make an even bigger explosion and possibly split into even more arrows than usual.

The hollow was taken a back when the girl spoke so mockingly to him. "What's this, how is she so confident? Even after all I've done she still thinks she can win!? Haha...haha." As he thought this he began to laugh aloud as he charged at the too, but even as he laughed something was off. That smile, as the hollow looked at it something felt wrong like as if he somehow was not currently winning. Like his advantage meant nothing, but the hollows pride in hunger would not allow him to access the situation any longer...this weak quincy had called him it and now she would die. He roared as made his sprint towards the two.

The hollow lifted it's arms and prepared to finish the two, only to see the girl fire off one last arrow. Even his yellow hollow eyes widened at the power crackling within that bow, in one last vain attempt it tried to stop itself from advancing but it was too late and there was no where he could move to. The arrow fired with an enormous amount of energy and spread into many arrows, it was like a shotgun blast of reiatsu, hitting every inch of the hollows underbelly. The arrows buried themselves deep within its skin before exploded separated the beasts limbs from it's own body and sending it's remains flailing on the ground.

"H-how!?" The creature gasped out, still clinging to some life left in it. "H-Huuuuumans! You tricked me! Curse you Quincy!" It flailed about as blood poured from it's wounds. "I am but one...my brothers and sisters-RAAAHH-th-they will ensure that you have a painful and worthless death!" He gasped out, knowing his life would end soon. Within a few more minutes of struggling the creature's body began to dissipate into nothingness, it was as if he never existed.

"Nice job, Ryoko." He said in thanks, loosening his grip and laying up against the wall for support, taking in a sigh of relief. Catching his breath the young man noticed the blood on them was beginning to disappear as well, giving them control of their body again. "Whew...we did good, that's one less hollow for anyone around here to worry about. ...Thanks Ryoko." He shifted his weight down and fell into a sitting position, that fight did quite a bit of damage to him and Ryoko and he needed a moment before he was gonna go moving around.
