While he noticed Azerik was guessing at a more spiritual answer, Genzen's mind was focused more on... physical things, like flesh and blood and guts. He new the puppet had a heart of some sort, but seemed to lack any sort of veins, so he softly spoke his guess, "Blood? It has a heart which could propel the blood, but no visible way to channel it throughout the body. Which makes me think it isn't there."
Typically, he would have just remained quiet even if he knew the answer, for fear of being wrong, but he gave it a shot this time.
"Just an observation..." he quietly added.

"A will to continue... a want to live on... none of us here want to die correct? Well this thing was made to die if need be, yet it fought the hardest to still alive and it also has a consciousness." As Nonko spoke on his wires detached from the computer console and went back under his sleeve. A smile can across his face as he looked upon his creation.
"This V3 is now in almost every way similar to you and I. I want to take it's will, developed personality, and mind altogether. And place it into the computer system." Grabing the first tool. Nonko started to work on removing what appeared to be some connection points around the ribs.

Azerik blinked as Nonko gave the answer he had been looking for. He hadn't anticipated such a philosophical answer, but did not disagree. The puppet was exactly what its name implied; a puppet to do the will of its master. There could be any number of protocols in its design that explained its perceived will to live, but knowing Nonko, the protocol to obey commands would have taken priority, leaving the situation as strange as it was now.
"Just tell me what to do then," Azerik said as Nonko began removing parts from the puppet's body, "if it wants to live this badly, I doubt it will have qualms with being a computer."

As Nonko began dissembling the puppet, Genzen saw several changes of the information on the screen he was viewing, showing that the puppet was that much less alive than before. He kept quiet, thinking his Captain knew what he was doing to the puppet better than Genzen, and whatever information Genzen could give him wouldn't be new to the Captain.
He wondered what the puppet would think if it knew exactly what the Captain was going to do to it. On the one hand, it would live longer, and be used much more, while on the other, it wouldn't have a body and would never be able to experience the life it had before. He supposed the puppet wouldn't mind, since it was simply built to follow Nonko's orders, but the puppet did want to live. Would it accept the changed life Nonko was forcing onto it?

Nonko placed the tool he was using back done onto the table. He then aimed his arm at the opened chest and the wires came out yet again. Wrapping around the blackened heart of the puppet they started to lift it out of the way. Placing it on the table, still beating, the wires moved on to wrap around a small computer chip. "When I pull this. It will die and we'll have 10 to move it to the computer before everything on it deletes." Nonko looked at both of them for a second before continuing. "Also once it die it's failsafe will activate and the body will set itself on fire so stand back as soon as I pull."

"Yes Captain," Azerik said as he both stepped away from the puppets dissected body, and opened up a panel on the side of the large super computer that took up most of the space at the back of Nonko's lab.
"Ready for transplant."

Not seeing much he could do to assist the Captain, Genzen got to his feet and stood back, not looking at the screen anymore since the puppet's fate would already be sealed. He gazed at the dying Puppet on the table now, wondering what sensations it was experiencing now (if any), and what it would think of its fate. "Rather like dying and becoming a Soul, in a way," he commented softly. "Without any given consent, it's losing the body it knows, and is passing to another existence. Like a Human's life, if you think about it."

What was said was very much fitting to what was happening. However Nonko of course payed no attention to he words of the lowly Forth Seat. Inside once they had backed away from the body he pulled the chip and backed away quickly with his wires handing him the chip. It happened as Nonko had said. Once he pulled it the body burst into blue flames covering the whole body.
The lifeless puppet body lay still as it burned. Within in seconds it was nothing more then ashes on the table. "8 seconds." Nonko said as he moved to the computer. Attaching the chip to a port he began uploading all of the information on the chip to the computer.
"4 Seconds."
He spoke again as the progress of the upload started to move faster. At the last second it finished and everything... when dark. All connected computer systems attached to Nonko's mainframe suddenly shut down.

Azerik's eyes went wide as the room's computers and lights shut off. This was not at all expected...at least for Azerik, but somehow he doubted this was expected by the Captain, and most certainly not welcome
"Captain..." Azerik said hesitantly as he blindly felt his way to the table that was host to the puppet's ashes, "I don't suppose you accounted for this possibility?"

In the darkness, Genzen had no idea what was going on. He knew they didn't have time before the puppet's intellect was destroyed, but also knew that the puppet's 'brain' had just been plugged into the main computer. "Uh... Could the puppet be doing this? Like, choosing to do this? If he had already taken control somehow..."

Nonko looked around the darkness. Could it be that the computer couldn't take the upload? No, that wouldn't make sense. Was the boy right? Did the upload complete and the puppet did it? Before Nonko could figure out any answers in his head a computer monitor switched on.
<</Request for System Password:
Nonko looked at it for a moment before entering the password.
<</Checking access... <</Access approved... <</System Re-activating...
Within in seconds the lights turned on. All the other computers switched on and the system the pretty much ran must of the technology in the Seireitei was now back online. After everything was on once again the screened displayed more words.
Atrum: Good day Captain Ryuuza. It is good to see you again.
It worked! Atrum was the codename of the puppet and now that it displays on the screen Nonko was sure it worked. Even through his eye link he was able to see that it had indeed worked. "Atrum... You are now the Master Program of this computer network system. All it's functions are now under your complete control. All it's duties are yours." He paused for a moment. "Are you capable of handling all this?"

Kazine was temporarily cut off from the mainframe while the switch was made. Once the switch was complete, the cat received an update indicating Atrum was the master program. This did not sit well with Kazine as he strolled in to the lab. "Whats going on in here?" Kazine spurted.

Azerik breathed a sigh of relief as the computer rebooted and the lights turned back on. Smiling as he saw the correspondence message on the screen directed at Nonko, Azerik realized the experiment had been a success.
Then as Kazine came in, Azerik's face soured to a scowl as the mod soul asked its question. "I'd think that was obvious," Azerik said to feline mod soul, "you're linked to the system aren't you? The Captain just used the old v3 Puppet's brain to upgrade the system with an self dependent AI."

Genzen grinned thoughtfully, glad everything had worked out. Twelfth Division was certainly interesting... After all, it wasn't everyday you worked in a place crawling with green cats of differing physiques and speech capabilities. He didn't say much as his eyes darted back and forth between the different screens in the room, which were now supposedly controlled by Nonko's puppet. Weird, how even though it had lost it's body, the puppet would never tire of serving it's master. He wondered how much Atrum thought for itself, and how much of it's mind was simply built to think for the Captain. Not that it concerned him, he thought to himself.
