The human sat near the city limits, looking on from atop a large hill. The arrancar were swarming about, he had managed to fight off one but there were certainly more. A victory he may have had, but it was a hard fought one. It was clear that it would be difficult to get them to retreat on his own. If he was gonna face Karzan, he needed better control of his ability, and a stronger body to handle it. That was what he thought as he sat there. He knew that the two of them would have to clash one on one before the end of this and that it would be a difficult battle...He had to prepare. He knew that at this moment, Karzan was probably doing the same...staying low until his actual "invasion" began. Clyde needed to be ready before that point.
So he sat, meditating with his power, hoping to increase his control over it in the coming days for his confrontation. It would not be a battle of revenge, he promised himself that, it would be a battle to protect those who the hollows threatened, and would always threaten.

"It has been a long time Clyde..." Kessin was strolling up the hill behind Clyde after taking an hour to track him down finally. A serious look was on his face. "And I happen to know that you were victorious against an arrancar.... how are you feeling?" He asked the human inquisitively. "Last I saw you was when your... lady friend passed."

Clyde tilted his head towards a familiar voice, breaking his meditation. It was Zakura, which normally would not have been so surprising but the two had not bumped into one another for a long time. He stood up and bowed lightly to his senpai. "Well...I'm relieved I was able to defeat him. It was maybe the toughest fight I've ever been in. To tell you the truth though, I guess I'm just a bit scared." He spoke honestly with his Kessin, knowing he of all people would be able to help him. "It's scary to think there are hollows that strong, and that there are more than one. When I first faced Karzan I could not believe the power he had...but now with my fight with Virgil it's becoming clear to me that they all have that kind of destructive power. That it's the "norm"."
He looked over at zakura with a serious expression on his face. "I need to be as prepared as I can possibly be for their big battle...no doubt they hide themselves for the right time. When that time comes I need to be ready, I need to be able to confront Karzan and do what I couldn't do the last time...stop him." he finished his explanation on his current situation, sighing somewhat to himself. "My past and memories can wait, I'm putting my whole being into this task. I've been training so hard to be able to accomplish this goal, Kessin-senpai."

"It is power you seek...preparedness you want... these hollow are not ordinary ones...they have the power of the shinigami within them. You could think of them as a shadowy alter-ego of Visards...the Arrancar."
Kessin thought to himself for a minute. "...Perhaps it is time you saw me for what I really am... perhaps you are now ready to face my true form...the real Zakura." Zakura upon Clyde, his expression never changing.
"I do not know what will happen... your opinion of me may change... your thoughts of the world may shatter...or it may give you more to build upon. It may even give you a hint as to what you really are... perhaps trigger a memory. Are you ready to face the unknown... do you believe yourself prepared for this?" Kessin turned around and began to walk down the hill. After a few steps, he would stop and simply look over his shoulder at Clyde. "The choice is yours Clyde... make it now."

"If there is any chance that I could gain a greater understanding of my power, a chance of preparing myself for the future battles..." He started saying without hesitation. He lifted his right arm up, and clenched his fist slowly in front of his ally. "Then I have no choice but to accept your offer." He matched the serious expression on his senpai's face. He bent down and grabbed a patch of dirt within his hands, and within a flash he would form an aura of reiatsu around his right hand up to his elbow. He knew that whatever was gonna happen, that it would be more than just "showing." Bringing his arms into a defensive posture he readied himself, he would give his all and in return would try and achieve the power he needed to have for his future battles. "I'm ready, show me "the real zakura.""

"Not here... too many prying eyes are about... meet me at the manga shop. No chances of civilian casualties there." He would walk off to the manga shop.

((I don't think we really NEED a whole other thread for this, instead we're just going to move the characters to the manga shop "in character". Much simpler this way.))
Clyde stayed silent, heading quietly towards the manga shops training grounds. This was serious, if Zakura was that worried about people getting caught in way. But it did not matter, the human needed all the training he could get. Even if he had to battle to train against a terrible power, he would. The two would arrive to the shop quickly thanks to their speed and after a moment of preparation the human made his way down into the underground training section and waited. Once Zakura arrived, the two could begin what would certainly be an intense way of strengthen the boy's power. He did not know what to expect, perhaps he would fight against the power of Zakura's inner hollow? Or maybe a hidden power he had yet to encounter.

(That works too  ) Kessin walked down the flight of stairs, Abaddon hissing in his head the entire way down. It knew what was going to happen and it was overjoyed. He would make his way to Clyde. " You are going to fight me as I am now and then in Shikai, to judge how far you have come. If you are determined to have progressed far enough, then you shall face what few have seen...or lived to remember." He held his left hand out, his zanpakuto pulling itself out of the sheath and swooped into his outstretched hand. " Come at me... Clyde." |

Clyde gave one more bow to Kessin as he arrived at the place the two would begin their test. The human held his arm up forward and using the energy he had gathered, created a blade of reiatsu within it to fight against the zanpakuto with. There was a moment where he had stayed silent watching the zanpakuto, a moment to analyse it. Clyde then brought his left hand to the bottom of the blade next to his right and brought it into an offensive stance. "Understood." He finally send before leaping forward at Kessin. Immediately he would dash forward and clash his blade against Zakura's, a test of strength. He push up against the blade trying to force the shinigami backward as he put his force up against it.

The two blades clashed in a large show of strength, which surprised Kessin. "You have indeed grown strong!..." Instead of keeping up with this test of strength, he let go of his zanpakuto. The blade stayed in the air, struggling to keep Clyde's blade tied up while its master sent a powerful uppercut punch at the human's stomach. "...But remember who you are fighting. Strength alone will not beat me. Do not forget what I taught you."

Clyde kept the pressure on the zanpakuto even as Kessin had released it from his grip. The human saw him wind his fist back and prepare an uppercut but as the fist came towards him Clyde used his reflex's and brought his knee towards the fist knocking into it from the side to prevent it from making contact with his sword. "I haven't forgotten senpai." As he said this the sword of reiatsu he held's shape twisted and turned, the blade remained intact to hold the zanpakuto back but two more blades grew from the top of it and shot forward towards Zakura like snakes. "I promise I am not taking you lightly." He made clear as he sent the pieces of his weapon to attack. The two blades would whip around and aim for two separate areas of Zakura's body in an attempt to push him on the defensive.

Kessin simply shunpo'ed to Clyde's left a few feet away. Noticing that the human was keeping up all that pressure on his zanpakuto, he had a smirk on his face. All of a sudden and without warning, the zanpakuto would pull away in an attempt to cause Clyde to fumble. At the same time the length of chain at the pommel of Abaddon attempted to pierce Clyde's left thigh with its thorn.
All of this happened while Kessin kept his distance, being mindful of the two new blades that were shot at him.

Kessin's zanpakuto would pull itself back away from Clyde in an attempt to trip him up while at the same time it's chain aimed to cut into the humans side. Clyde was fast, however, and had trained his reflex's to a much higher point than the first time the two of them were training together. As he fell forward he brought his left palm down catching himself and flipping his legs over his head as he prepared to cartwheel back onto his feet. As he did He stabbed his blade down upon abaddon's thorn to pin it to the ground. He twisted the shape of his weapon again to allow him to keep it pinned even as he finished his movement and landed back on his feet.
He then motioned the two other blades to twist around and follow Kessin, extending their reach as they followed the vizard, leaving a trail of reiatsu behind them that still attached itself to Clyde. As they approached him one slammed into the ground close to Kessin's feet sending a wave of dust directly in front of him in an attempt to distract him while the second blade snaked around to strike at him.

Zakura was surprised at how much Clyde had grown in ability since the last time they sparred. "I'll have to up the ante sooner than i thought..." Kessin thought to himself. He saw the first blade coming in, then plunge into the ground sending a plume of dust into the air. However Kessin shunpoed to the right just before it hit the ground. What he didn't expect was the second blade. Once he saw it, it was too late to completely dodge. All he could do was take a step forward, the blade slicing into his back. It left a long cut running horizontally. "Oww! I definitely have to up the ante now." He said out loud. He then shunpo'ed out of the dust cloud and away from the two blades.
"Keine Rose ohne Dornen, Abaddon." Once he said the shikai call out, the zanpakuto changed into its chain form. Clyde was now well within striking range as it twisted to strike the human from both ends of the chain and in two different directions, in front and behind Clyde.

The human didn't miss a beat as the zanpakuto dissapeared from his sight and was replaced with that far more deadlier version of abbadon, it's shikai. As the chains moved in to strike He stabbed his main blade into the ground and shot upwards, extending its length temporarily to launch him above the two chains. Once he got into the air he controled the two blades to continue moving, twisting and continueing to leave a trail of reiatsu from Clyde to where they are heading. One heading upwards towards the human while the other dove into a section of the shikai in an attempt to push it into the dirt below him. "It was from your tactics and spars that I've become so adept at fighting. It was under your suggestion that I trained myself in many different shapes and weapons. A lot of my training I owe to you." He exlained in a thanking manor to his senpai. While still in mid air, he launched a blast of reiatsu at the man.

"And you have come a long way from the boy I first met. But things will get increasingly difficult from here on out." Kessin said as he saw the blast come in. He simply shunpo'ed further back to avoid the blast. The chain's thorn met head on with the blade that was diving down at it and the two crashed into each other. Abaddon wasn't being pushed back this time though... instead it began pushing the blade of reitsu back up towards Clyde. A surge of reitsu was gathering at the epicenter of the struggle. "Oni Ranpu." Kessin uttered before a black blast of reitsu left the thorn and engulfed the blade, travelling upwards towards Clyde and enveloping the length of reitsu that connected the human to his blade.
The other end of Abaddon swung wide around this and upward in an attempt to grab Clyde from his left.

With a flick of the humans wrist, the path of reiatsu that Zakura's "Oni Ranpu" attempted to consume would expand around it and explode before it could travel up towards Clyde's position. The human then began to descend as the second blade came upward past him, clashing with the other section of abbaddon to stop it from attacking Clyde while he made his way to the ground. The second blade would continue to move up and around abbandon as it did this surrounding a section of it. His feet nimbly touched the soft dirt on the ground before he charged at his senpai and stabbed the reiatsu blade in his hand forward at the vizard. As he stabbed it forward, however, it split into two seperate blades that swung around to the backside of his opponent to attempt to ensare him.
