Name: Kyoshin Oscuro
Alias: Black Magnum
Age: 518, appears to be in his teens
Gender: Male
Class: Arrancar
Faction: Las Noches
Rank: Privaron Espada
PvP Availability: Permission Only
Appearance:
Reiatsu Color: Black
Personality: Given five years to mature as an Arrancar, Kyoshin has become calm and collected, no longer trusting the emotions and bonds that before controlled him. Rejection and isolation from Rose has, after much time, taught him to disregard his feelings, which he now sees as weaknesses, the lingering effects of humanity that are of no use to the strong. He has even grown accustomed to his Hollow drives and is now capable of controlling them, feeding on Hollows or Arrancar by choice rather than by impulse and only on rare occasions. While still very philosophical, he is at heart a nihilist, seeing no real meaning in life or conflict and only using ‘causes’ and concepts of ‘justice’ to discourage or confuse opponents, as well as win allies. He believes in nothing, but he may pretend to when it is advantageous. He bears no strong enmity towards the Shinigami or the humans, but neither does he care for them, and he will destroy anyone or anything in his way if he deems the task worthy of his effort. Somewhere inside him is still a heart, he’s just chosen to ignore it as it’s only brought him pain thus far.
Family: All of his living family died and became Hollows, many of which he devoured himself.

History: Kyoshin was born in Kyoto, Japan, during the Sengoku period. He was orphaned at the age of seven, as both of his parents died at the start of a conflict known as the Onin War, which lasted for nearly a decade. As a teenager he fought in the war himself, and near the end of the conflict, his own life was claimed. His soul lingered in the Living World, and as he watched the bloodshed continue, helpless and unable to protect his comrades, his own anguish quickly transformed him into a Hollow. Now more than capable of interceding, Kyoshin cut down all who were on the battlefield, former friends and enemies alike, devouring their souls as he did. Before attracting the attention of the Shinigami, he fled to Hueco Mundo, and, driven by his insatiable hunger, he quickly began to prey upon weaker Hollows he found there. He didn't understand what had just happened to him, why he had killed his friends, or what he was now, but he kept eating. He had to; it was as if the taste of Hollows hid the pain he was feeling.
As Kyoshin let his hunger dominate him, more and more of his past became hidden in the haze of his animalistic drive. Sometimes, when gazing up at the moon of Hueco Mundo, he would try to recollect who he had been, but memories only brought him pain. Even in his new form, he could sense that something was missing, that he'd lost something that he had before. He could no longer feel true emotions, only jealous and longing, and he knew this. His past life held nothing for him but suffering.
After several years hunting in Hueco Mundo, Kyoshin clashed with a pack of Hollows like himself who were not content with the taste of human souls. The fight itself did not last long, and as the Hollows' drive to devour consumed them, they were all fused together as a Gillian Menos. Their individuality lost, the Hollows had been united by their drive to feed, which had forced all memories and personalities from them. Kyoshin, however, faintly realized himself. He no longer had a past to call his own, or anything to tell himself apart from the Hollows he had fused with. All he had now was a name. Kyoshin. It felt foreign now, like a word he no longer knew the meaning of. But it was all he had. He would give it meaning, it meant... him.
As the Gillian was drawn to others of its kind, Kyoshin fought for dominance against the creature he had become. He could not be dominated by the hunger he had let consume him before, he had to harness it, he had to use it. Gaining control, he turned on the other Gillian around him, the creatures who had ceased to act on their own and were content to act as one with their kind. He kept fighting against them, building his own power and determination as he devoured countless Gillian, until he evolved again. As an Adjuchas Menos, Kyoshin's need to feed doubled, and gained new urgency, for if he failed to consume other Adjuchas, he would revert to a Gillian. As he began hunting again, he gained a following of other Menos, and together the group took down larger opponents and effectively protected each other from stronger Hollows. For centuries, Kyoshin's pack prowled the desert of Hueco Mundo, consuming strong Hollows to preserve their individuality and grow in strength themselves. Kyoshin's human past was long forgotten, yet he had gained a new identity as a Hollow.
Then, everything changed. A Vasto Lorde Menos with strength far beyond that of Kyoshin or his companions massacred a swarm of over three-hundred Hollows, purely as a display of his own power. Kyoshin, caught with his pack in the middle of the bloodbath, knew he didn’t stand a chance against the Menos and chose to run and hide in the shadows rather than be annihilated. Watching as his abandoned companions and countless other Hollows were slaughtered without purpose, the Adjuchas filled with a hatred of his own weakness and swore that one day he would avenge the Hollows he’d killed and destroy this monster. From then on he took no more companions, wanting to avoid attachment and seeing any strong Hollows not as potential allies, but only fuel to grow stronger himself. Yet as the years passed he began to despair, for as many as he consumed, he did not evolve, nor did he seem strong enough to fight his sworn enemy. He grew to hate himself, that he was weak, too weak to save or avenge anyone, and feared that he would be forever unable to escape this weakness. Seeing no other way to progress, Kyoshin tore off his mask then and there, screaming in both rage and pain as he was transformed into an Arrancar. Inspecting his new body and Zanpakuto with a fascination that helped him forget his pain and vowing again that he would make the Vasto Lorde pay for what he did, Kyoshin charged through the sands in a search for his target, who in the end found him.
It was Karzan Zaraki who had murdered Kyoshin’s pack, and in the time Kyoshin had spent trying to evolve, his enemy the Vasto Lorde had already risen up the ranks of Las Noches as an Arrancar and become the Lord of the Deep. So, when Karzan found Kyoshin, the young Arrancar determined to destroy him, the ruler of Las Noches recognized the other’s Reiatsu as one who had been present at the massacre, and in a way of congratulating him for his survival, he brought him into the Arrancar Army and took him under his wing as his lieutenant. Kyoshin now saw revenge to be pointless, as the gap in their power had persisted despite his training, and soon settled into his role as the Second in Command over the Arrancar army. He grew to respect Karzan as somewhat of a mentor, and ignored the words of dissenters, like the Segunda Espada, Virgil, who sought to overthrow Karzan, saying he was unfit to be ruler.
Yet thoughts of vengeance began to resurface in Kyoshin’s mind as he grew strong enough to fight on equal footing with Karzan, and his perceived ‘mentor’ grew more aggressive and condescending, going as far as reminding his Commander of their previous encounter as Hollows to cause him pain and confusion. Kyoshin would have sought to destroy his Lord then and there had it not been for Rose Leocadia, the Tercero Espada, who saw her fellow Arrancar as a family she didn’t want divided. Her consolation and pleadings kept Kyoshin in line, and the two Arrancar began to draw close to eachother emotionally, something Kyoshin accepted but didn’t understand, and that Rose feared as a weakness. It was she who convinced Kyoshin to fight in the invasion of Karakura, a battle Karzan instigated that Kyoshin deemed unnecessary, yet joined all the same, hoping he could perhaps save some Hollows, or perhaps his fellow Arrancar, from needless deaths. In the midst of the conflict he realized the extent of his feelings for the Tercero, for as long as she was in danger his thoughts were only for her safety, and he could barely bring himself to focus on his own or the fights he was engaged in. In the end, the battle’s outcome and Karzan’s defeat were relatively meaningless to him, as all he really cared about was Rose’s survival.
Yet when they arrived back at Las Noches, Kyoshin began to see that things were different, as Karzan made clear his intentions by demoting Kyoshin to a Privaron Espada and letting Rose take his former position, further cementing her intense loyalty to her lord and ostracizing Kyoshin. Rose then kept her distance from all the Espada, seeming obsessed with her perceived ‘failure’ at the battle and constantly begging for her master’s forgiveness. Kyoshin attempted to console her, yet Rose refused to even see him, saying it was ‘for their own good.’ In an act of defiance Kyoshin immediately fought for and won the position of Tercero Espada, as if to remind Karzan that position didn’t affect the power he actually had, but neither the Lord of the Deep nor his new Commander Rose seemed to see Kyoshin as a threat, which ultimately proved to be true. Rose’s rejection seemed to take away Kyoshin’s will to fight, as trying to defeat Karzan would only make him her enemy and while he had plenty reasons to fight his lord, actually defeating him would hold no reward. So he became Karzan’s passive ally once again, trying to forget all enmity or attachment and simply following the path of least resistance. As Kyoshin had been the name he'd kept from his human life, the Tercero gave himself a new last name, Oscuro, purely as an afterthought to compliment his renewed outlook on existence.
Skills
Free Skill: Resurreccion Mastery
Abilities:
-Esparcir: When any section of his body is protected from direct light, it ceases to reflect all light, becoming entirely black, and Kyoshin is able to break down that part of his physical form into Reishi, spiritual particles that can float freely through the shadow and act independently of the rest of him. He can do this with his sword or any part of himself or his attire, but not to anyone else. Once made into Reishi, any part of him can be reformed, whether attached to him as it was before or floating somewhere in the same shadow. As he cannot take physical damage as Reishi, he also cannot give damage, and must reform at least part of himself if he intends to attack, however he remains vulnerable to Reiatsu-based attacks regardless of his form. If the shadow is moved or destroyed and Kyoshin is exposed to light in his Reishi form, he will be forced back into his original form painfully and his power will become inactive. This power is completely silent, and as Kyoshin's body will cease to reflect light entirely when exposed to darkness, it's the ultimate stealth technique, as long as the shadows remain.
-Impulsar: (Sonido Variant) While using Esparcir, and parts of his physical form are scattered as Reishi, Kyoshin can move that Reishi between shadows in a unique form of Sonido that is silent, does not reflect light, and can slip past physical objects to reach the target shadow. But, if he is split in this way and one of the shadows is destroyed, the Reishi will forcibly recombine with his physical form and the parts reconstructed in this way may take severe damage.
Zanpakuto Name: Noche Espinosa (Thorny Night)
Description: Kyoshin's is an unusual blade in that it has no guard or wrapping on the hilt. The entire sword is a single, four-foot length of black metal, rectangular at the grip and thinning down halfway to form a sharp edge. Along the grip are four holes, placed close together as slots for his fingers, to assist his hold on the sword and allow for unusual maneuvers and blocks.
-Resurrección Command: Mangle them, Noche Espinosa
Attacks:
-Sombra Agarrar: Kyoshin's Resurreccíon form can sprout Reiatsu-based black tentacles from any point of his body or from a nearby shadow (must be within 60 feet of him) and can grow long thorns out of the tentacles themselves. These tentacles share Kyoshin's grappling strength, and their tips can cut an enemy as a sword would, though if they themselves are cut they will dissolve into thin air instantly. If an enemy has 40 Attack more than Kyoshin, they will be able to completely break free of the tentacle’s hold after ten seconds' struggling, but if they have 80 Attack more they can free themselves with relative ease in only a few moments.
-Umbrio Horizonte: While in Resurreccion, Kyoshin can use his Reiatsu to completely darken entire areas, blocking out all visible light and allowing himself to use his Esparcir technique freely. This ability has a range of his Reiatsu stat in feet, and can be sustained for up to seven posts, with a cooldown time equal to the number of posts it was used before it can again be employed.
Passive Abilities:
-Los Ceguera: If an enemy is pierced by Kyoshin's thorns, they will become 'infected' by his Reiatsu, losing their sight and ability to properly gauge or detect his Reiatsu for three posts. If their Reiatsu is equal or higher than Kyoshin's, however, they will be unaffected by the poison.

-Dominio Negacion
Look: A purple, glass cube that could fit in the palm of one’s hand.
Summary: The Dominio Negacion device contains an immense amount of compressed energy that can form a forcefield akin to the Negacion ability used by Gillian Menos. Kyoshin can activate it by stating the device’s name.
Abilities:
-Luminoso
Look: Glass spheres about the size of baseballs, with black shades reminiscent of eyelids.
Summary: Luminoso have two main functions: Stealth reconnaissance, and casting shadows. The spheres can capture light and act as Kyoshin’s eyes from afar. He can use them to observe anything from miles away, as the images can be transferred to his mind almost telepathically. The spheres can also act as light sources proportionally brighter than the sun, creating dark shadows even in mid-day.
Abilities:

-Hueco Estimulo
Look: A small, black pill with a tiny ‘0’ stamped on it.
Summary: Produced by scientifically compressing large amounts of Hollow Reiatsu, Hueco Estimulo triggers Kyoshin’s dormant Hollow powers when ingested. This causes a spike in his power, and allows him to use High-Speed Regeneration temporarily.
