Name:Taira Kurohyou
Alias:Tai, Snow
Age:206
Gender:Female
Faction:Shinigami
Rank:Second Division Taicho
PvP Availability: Permission Only
Description:
Standing at a short height of 5’5, Tai wears sandals to make her an inch taller. Her blue/grey eyes often look lonely or calm, her walk graceful from many years of training. Her pale skin can come off as creepy to some people, along with her cold stare and the way she hold her body, proudly and cocky. At first glance she looks like someone you wouldn’t want to mess with.
Strapped to her hip is a black sheath with a silver panther coaled around it, tilted at a slight angle so it is easy to grab, she often laces her sword to her back if she is going on a long trip or moving through brush. She wears a long sleeve; long necked white over shirt that zips up in the front from the top of the chest to the end of the long neck. Under this shirt she wears a black long necked sleeveless undershirt. Then she wears a short black skirt with black thigh high leggings with while sandals. Her captain's jacket is modified with a white inside just like the white exterior.
Reiatsu Color:Crimson
Personality: Despite Tai’s childish appearance, her looks match little of her personality. She is very calm and collective, mostly keeping to herself. Although she has a quick temper she is very good at not letting it show by snapping. She doesn’t talk much unless spoken to or if it is completely necessary, most people just read what she says off her body.
Tai enjoys being alone, away from the world. Usually in a high branch of a tree, where no one would think to find her. Here she enjoys thinking about everything, it helps to her to calm down and relax. This solitude is like her best friend almost. And while she is not the kind of person to tell you to go away, she’ll try to avoid people who don’t know her well.
Even though she is mostly kept to herself, she does have a fighting spirit. She often enjoys sparring with people who think they are all powerful, just to see if they really are. She doesn’t actually aim to kill unless it is completely necessary. She is also very protective of people who don’t deserve to die. If an innocent person is being attacked, Tai won’t hesitate to step in. Also, she is very protective of her squad, while she isn’t as quick to step in, she will watch over to make sure it doesn’t end badly.
Don’t be fooled by Tai’s outer shell. Somewhere in there is a sweet girl. This is seen when Tai grins or smirks, it isn’t often and not everyone sees it but she does show a bit of happiness around the people she cares most about and the people who know her best. This bit of happiness, the grin, it’s always there. She just hides it most the time but when alone her true emotions do show, as always in solitude.
A downfall to Tai’s personality is her curiosity. She has curiosity much like a child. When someone has captured her interest it is near impossible to get her to focus on anything else until her interest has died down. Her attention is mostly caught by weapons or fighting styles. But her curiosity is very high for almost anything she doesn’t know about or understand.
Stated before, Tai doesn’t talk much unless spoken to or if necessary. Usually, when necessary, she is only being a smart aleck. Even her thoughts are smart aleck. It’s just who she is, and her smart aleck is why a lot of people see her as rude and irritating. She just speaks her mind when she speaks. She doesn’t see a reason not to.

History: Born in a wealthy family on June 7th, was an odd looking girl. With light blond hair and baby blue eyes and extremely pale skin. Her father and mother lived in a two story building on a ranch with plenty of slaves. The girl was given the name April Kurohyou. She loved her family, and loved where she lived and she had a pretty normal life.
When April turned ten she started to take an interest in the slave’s work. So daily she’d go out and watch the slave’s work in the fields. One slave caught her eye, an old muscular slave. When she finally got the courage to talk to him he seemed open to her. Welcoming her questions. It wasn’t long until going outside with two glasses of water and talking to him became a routine for her. Her mother and father didn’t know of course, and her sister was too young to understand why visiting with a slave might be a bad thing.
As April spoke more and more with this man she came to discover he use to have a family, before he became their slave. He used to be free. It seemed to pain him as he spoke about it, so April never pushed the topic.
After seven months of doing this April had become friends with many of the slaves. She even started sneaking out at night to visit the old man’s cabin. He lived in the small cabin with eleven other people. Five women, six men, seven of the eleven were children, mostly younger than April. But every night April would sneak out a pitcher of ice cold water and give it to that cabin as the old man spoke more and more with her.
One night when she went to take water to the cabin the old man and she took a walk outside. April complained it was too cold but the man begged her to go. When they got a good ways away from the cabin and the house the man hugged April to him. At first April was shocked and scared. The man was strong and much bigger than she was, his hug was tough and hurt her ten year old back but she hugged him back.
The man then let go of her and dropped to her knees, taking her soft face in his rough cheeks. Her frightened eyes stared at the slave’s tear stained face. “You are so much like my little girl, so curious. So little.” He whispered.
She was shocked at what he was saying. “I was a fighter, before I was a slave. I boxed to pay for my family. My wife, son, daughter and I. I fought all the time. So much so, my wife was about to leave me. She didn’t understand I did it for her.” He was sobbing so hard. “I knew many forms of fighting. My wife looked down on my fighting, but years and years I learned from fighting that…it wasn’t war. Fighting was peace.”
He let go of April and sat back. “More and more slaves…I begged my wife to learn how to defend herself, so nothing would happen but she refused. Then one day, they came. Took my children while my wife and I slept, then tried taking my wife from right beside me. I refused to let them…fighting killed her. Fighting to protect her life…killed her. They shot her through the head…she’s dead.”
April starred in horror at the old man. It seemed like something he had been wanting off his chest for a while. Slowly she stepped towards him, wrapping her arms around his neck. “Do…you want me to be your daughter?”
Suddenly he began laughing and laughing, which soon turned into sobs. He walked her back to the cabin but right before they walked in the cabin he looked down at her, brushing her light blonde hair out of her face. “You need to learn to protect yourself. Like I said, fighting is a peace, not a war.” She smiled up at him.
Three weeks after, she was about to sneak out when she heard her mother and father arguing. She snuck down stairs and peeked over the corner. “Neo! Just leave her alone!”
“No, she is bothering the slaves! They need their rest! She is going to get a whipping, she knows she is not aloud near the cabins!”
April now knew they were talking about her. Sadly looking at the floor she continued to listen to the argument. It went on and on. Mother saying that April sound be allowed to befriend them, Father saying that April was getting a beating. Suddenly she heard footsteps of her father coming near the corner. “No, Neo! You will not touch her!” Mother screamed.
April peered over the corner once more, hiding in the shadows to see her mother grab her father’s arm. Her father spun around, hitting her mother across the face. She clawed at his face, grabbed his hair as she fell to the ground. He started beating her to a pulp as he landed on top of her. Her mother reached for a gun but her father wrestled with her for it…the result was a dead mother. A bullet through her chest.
With watery eyes April listening to the echo of the gunshot through the house, then silence. Then suddenly her father started cussing up a storm and April ran back upstairs and crawled out a window, to the cabins.
When she reached the cabins one of the boys answered it, shocked at her face. The old man, limped over to April taking the crying girl in her arms, carrying her to his bunk bed and sitting down, rocking her back and forth. “Shh, shh.”
The cabin was silent. They all heard the gun shot…they all knew someone was hurt. “Who was it…” The man asked.
“Daddy….daddy killed mommy.” April cried into his chest. One of the slaves was staring outside the window then looked back at April. “April, your father is coming.”
Fear in her eyes she looked up at the man. He wiped April’s tears away. “Act like nothing happened. If he tries hurting you, run…I’ll fight one last time.” He whispered. “For your peace, I will fight.”
Her father opened the door and looked at all the slaves then at April, who was pretending to play with a bunch of the kids. “April, you know you are not allowed here.”
Her father took April to the carriage. When April entered she saw her sister asleep in the back seat. The carriage stopped at the police station. April wondered if her father was turning himself in. No, he handed the cops a picture of the old man! Why?! It wasn’t until years later, April realized her father had framed the old man.
April never returned home. Her father sold the home, land, and all the slaves. By the time she had gotten use to her new home in the city she was twelve. Her father moved her into a Catholic school. She hated it. It was all about ‘thou shalt not’. In her mind she had no freedom.
She had become a very quiet student, she convinced her father she had after school work but she had found a sensei to teach her how to fight. Every cell in her repeated “Fighting is not a war, it is a peace.”
She became close friends with her sensei, with his whole family. Soon, she became best friends with her sensei’s daughter, who went to her school. Taira was her name.
When April turned fifteen she returned home to an angry father. He started ranting about how he found out what April was doing after school. April ignored most of it until her little sister, who was now seven, came down to see what was going on. April’s eyes widened as she didn’t see Haru, her little sister, but saw herself…watching her mother die. April stood up and looked at her father. “Let me get Haru to go play with something upstairs, then we’ll continue this.” She said and took Haru upstairs.
She locked Haru’s door and went back down stairs and saw her father pouring himself a glass of liquor. She sat down and stared at him. “Women shouldn’t fight!” He said.
He kept going and going. Then finally he said, “If that man hadn’t killed your mother, do know how upset she’d be?!”
April snapped. “He didn’t kill mother! He would never kill anyone! You framed him, you sick bastard. You killed mother, because she was trying to protect me! You killed her!” April’s eyes widened as her father dropped his glass and starred at April.
Suddenly his stare turned into a drunken glare. He came after April. She fought him off as much as she could but he was beating her. Finally she reached for the nearest item, a wine bottle. And she started beating her father over the head…until he was dead. Quickly she ran upstairs, horrified with what she had just done. She changed clothes and then sat on her bed for an hour, sobbing. She threw away her clothes and put on a long coat and went to Haru’s room, grabbing her now sleeping sister.
She ran.
She didn’t know where she was going, she was letting her feet carry her and her sister, finally, night was here and she was in front of a home. She laid the sleepy Haru on the porch. “Haru, we’re going to play a game.”
Haru looked up with a yawn. “Two people are going to answer this door. They are going to see you, and love you. But you have to stay with them, the more you stay with them and love them and their daughter back, the more points you get. I’m going to run around the world. And if I make it back here, I win.” April said. April handed her a letter.
“Give this to their daughter.” April said.
April went to knock on the door and Haru stopped her. “I love you.” She whispered and closed her eyes. April cried and knocked on the door. She kissed Haru’s forehead. “I love you too.” She whispered and ran off, hiding in the shadows.
Suddenly, her Sensei opened the door and looked down at Haru. Gasping, looking around and waking the girl up. Haru looked up at him and said something, handing him the note, then he called Tai to come and handed her the note, taking Haru inside.
April smiled softly than began her journey around the world.
When April was seven-teen, her hair had become white. She often fought for food money. Every time she entered a fight she put her name as Taira Kurohyou. She had reached New York.
Somewhere in New York, April was sleeping outside and murdered. Her body was found the next day, too many suspects from all the fights she had been so the case was quickly closed.
Soul Society[/u]
When April was reborn into the Soul Society. She couldn’t remember her past. All she remembered was the name Taira Kurohyou, which she adopted as her own. She remembered “Fighting is not a war, it’s a peace.” And often in her nightmares she’d hear a gunshot, or splats of blood. Or a little girl saying I love you.
She lived in an orphan home in Rukongai. She got picked on a lot, she looked to be about seven-teen and had white hair. She was still quiet and kept to herself. But she was also a dreamer. She heard about the shinigami. And wanted nothing more to become a captain. She knew it would never happen but she dreamt of it.
She had no friends at the orphanage; she helped the younger kids who got picked on, like stealing food for them and such but other than that. She never interacted with anyone at the orphanage.
One night she had gone for a walk. Everyone was asleep so it was pretty easy for her to sneak out. She was standing on the edge of a roof, just staring at the sky when she heard something fall behind her, she got spooked and jumped back onto the roof into a fighting stance. She heard a squeak and saw a box moving. Slowly she walked over to the box and opened it. She looked down at an odd looking creature. It was a ferret.
She smiled down at the ferret and went to go pet it. Quicker than she could move, the ferret bit her. She let out a yelp and closed the box, panting. She made sure the box couldn’t open and ran back to the orphanage, sneaking in the kitchen, stealing some food then returning to the roof. She opened the box and the ferret glared up at her. “Here.” She whispered, handing over some of the food. The ferret hesitated to take it but Tai ate some and the ferret quickly snatched it out of her hand.
She spent a year doing that before she was kicked out of the orphanage for her age. She practically lived on that roof, with the ferret she had named Waru, which meant evil.
It was one day she had bumped into a Captain while walking to a food stand. Shocked she bowed and apologized but the Captain stared down at her and just walked away.
Unknown to her he had followed her to the roof and as she fed Waru and herself the Captain came to her. She was scared and threatened him, not knowing who he was. But then…she realized and bowed down.
He said she had Reiastu. She was shocked, almost didn’t believe him. Then he asked her to go the academy. She was overjoyed! She passed her classes with flying colors but, she found using weapons was hard for her. She preferred hand to hand.
When she graduated from the Academy, she was first in squad eight but pulled out of squad eight and put in squad six, then pulled out of squad six and finally placed in squad two. Squad two is where she felt most comfortable. And it didn’t take long for her to challenge her Squad Captain. Her captain literally beat the crap out of her but didn’t kill her. Instead, her Captain visited Tai every day in the hospital.
When Tai left the hospital after a week the 2nd Division captain resigned. Tai was shocked when she got the news of her captain wanting her to be the new captain. Tai didn’t refuse but after Tai became captain she went to the old captain’s home with two words. “Why me?”
Her captain just smiled and said “It takes more strength than I can imagin, to realize you’ve lost and having the will to keep standing up, over and over. You really wanted it…I have wanted to resign for a while, but I could never find someone who would fit the profile. Who could fill my spot.”
With that Tai grinned slightly and bowed. Spending years being captain, she has gotten a reputation of the Snow Captain because pale white appearance.

Free Skill: Hand to Hand Mastery
Name: Ketsueki kodomo (Blood Child)
Description:
-Sealed: This Zanpaktou looks like a normal ninja katana which is just a straight katana. The sword is Twenty-eight inches long, the normal length of a long katana. The blade is a light sliver and extremely sharp. The blade guard is darker silver than the rest of the blade and the guard is a dark shade of gold. The tang is a silver to match the blade guard. The rayskin is golden, matching the guard then over that is the cord warp which is completely black. The butt of the handle has the Japanese symbol of blood, which is a square with a long bottom, two lines in the middle, and a lash on top of it. This symbol is in a light red color.
The sheath is black with silver that looks like a panther coaling up the sheath, stopping right before the cord, which is black and white ropes sown together. Then the sheath is also made out of teak wood, which is one of the strongest woods and most water resistant woods in the world. The sheath is polished every morning to stay shiny, like new.
-Shikai:
Call Out Phrase; Kokyu, Ketsueki kodomo (Breath, Blood Child)
To call upon the Shikai form, the tip of the blade must be pointing toward the ground, the rest of the blade, diagonal toward the ground. When called upon it seems as if the guard starts bleeding as lines of blood trail down the blade, spelling out “Kage ni kakure” (Hidden In the Shadow) almost as if it was engraved on the blade. Then by the time it gets to the tip of the blade a faint red faint mist appears then the whole sword just fades into a red mist, making the mist so heavy it is impossible to see through. The mist stands out for four hundred feet before it seems to abruptly stop.
-Bankai:
Call out Phrase; Anchein jishin, ketsueki Youkai (Unchain yourself, Blood Monster)
Too call upon Bankai, a diagonal swipe from top right to left must be performed. When raised up “Chi No Kage” (Shadow of Blood) shines brightly on the sword in bright red, then sliding the sword down, by the time it reaches the left it has faded into the red mist, and the red mist is so heavy, it grows hard for someone inside of it to breath. The Bankai is almost exactly like the Shikai form but it spreads out to one thousand feet and is so moist that the more you stay in it the harder it is to stay in. Anybody would start to feel a little bit claustrophobic after a few minutes. Also it gives the user the ability to harness the mist to what they want, so a silhouette of someone could be made or a sword. Anything that the mist can make can be made.
Spirit Description: To understand the spirit, think of a small boy, around the age of 13. The boy is very, very skinny, you can see his ribs and bones, almost as if he has no muscles on his bones. Then he has brilliant blue eyes, that seem to be the most lively things on his body. Then his nails seem to be long claws like a lions. Moving down his frail legs are always bent at the knees, as if it is impossible for him to straighten them out. Then looking more deeply at his face he has shark like teeth with, where the k-9s are located, very very long like sabers. Then attached to his back are giant wings. Often when entering the inner world he is first seen as a ball around him, created by his bat like wings, opening up and showing the frail, sick looking boy.
Inner World: The inner world is like an island floating in outer space. It’s a small desert area with a black cloud sky, thunder shaking the small floating island. Then a cave that seems to go into the ground but never ends, the cave keeps on going, as if there is a labyrinth underneath the island. Then if you step off the island while you are above ground it is a never ending fall with the spirit flying next to you.
Attacks: None
Passive Abilities:
Shikai Mist-
From activation there is a large mist covering four hundred feet. The red mist is made up of blood from the sword itself and makes it impossible to see anything.
Bankai Mist-
Almost like the Shikai mist. This mist is heavier, more moist, causing it to be very hard to breath in it. Also in this mist Tai completely disappears, only reappearing if she creates vibration (Sound). So a cough, snap, or whisper would allow her to reappear. This mist can last for 1000 yards before abruptly stopping and it also gives Tai the ability to create images in the mist, making it seem as if a person or item is in the mist that isn't. While she can make it seem like the form is speaking, using vibrations bouncing through the mist, nothing she creates is living. She is merely just a puppeteer in a pool of string. But in her case, string is blood.
