Name: Hisoka Itoku
Alias: The Lost Prodigy
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Faction: Quincy
Rank: None, runs a mechanic shop
Description:
Itoku’s overall appearance does not reflect his physical condition. Itoku’s originally black hair had been dyed white and has grown to waist length, his bangs covering his piercing black eyes. Sporting a grayish-white robe most of the time not outside, the only signs of him being a Quincy at all is the sanrei glove, his cross pendant, and the trademark Quincy design on the back of his robe. His elderly appearance disguises his surprisingly young age and fit body, though he shows it as rarely as possible.
Personality: Itoku can be best described as…eccentric. His unorthodox methods are often so odd or extreme many question his sanity. His usual response, which is simply a sample of his personality: “I am, without a doubt, not insane. I’m completely normal; it is the rest of the world that is insane.” Behind his unusual behavior and his infinitely complicated thought process is a kind heart, which would explain Itoku’s care towards his ‘sister’, Suzuran.
Family:
Sister: Hisoka Suzuran, Gikongan
Holding a permanent residence inside a dead shinigami’s gigai, Suzuran is an artificial soul living with her ‘brother’ Itoku. Always cheerful and hyper, she helps Itoku run the mechanic shop and does the grocery shopping. To exhaust her unlimited supply of energy, Itoku enrolls her into various martial arts classes, which she seems to excel at and climb up the ranks rapidly. On her list of ‘black belts’ include Judo, Aikido, Wushu, several variants of Tai Chi, and Baguazhang, to name a few she had gained over the last five years. Due to the fact her body never ages, she cannot attend school without raising suspicion, but she learns plenty from books at home and stuff her brother teaches her. She has the faint ability to sense reiatsu, something which she reports to Itoku about each time she comes home.

History:
Born to two well-known Quincys who have each been recognized due to their archer abilities, Itoku was expected to grow up just as skillful since birth. The pressure didn’t seem to affect Itoku much as a child, and when he was given his Quincy pendant he took to it immediately. As expected of him, his abilities seemed to grow exponentially the older he got, and by the age of ten Itoku had already gone through the sanrei glove training, possessing abilities many adult bow-wielders had never acquired in their lifetimes. Declared as a prodigy by those who had witnessed his abilities, he was expected to become one of the most powerful Quincys in history, if not their future leader.
Of course, there were people who had their doubts, even fears, about Itoku. By the time he was thirteen, a small group of Quincys (a few of them respected clan leaders) had decided upon themselves to ruin his chances to become a powerful Quincy. One fateful day after Itoku had finished his training, he was ambushed by three individuals, each brandishing a bow aiming its arrow at him. Not expecting much of a fight from a tired teenager they were caught off guard as Itoku reacted instantly and shot down two of them. The one left standing was one of the clan leaders, and seeing his plan fall apart he decided to change tactics. The man screamed for help as loudly as he could, attempting to attract a large crowd. As he expected, footsteps could be heard approaching from the distance. With a devious smile on his face, the man shot himself in the stomach with an arrow and fell to the ground.
Itoku, quite confused at what was happening, could only shake in fear as people approached and questioned him about what had happened. As the situation clearly seemed to be against Itoku’s favor, the boy ran from the Quincy grounds, infuriated and frustrated at what had just occurred. He stopped in front of a shop and leaned against the wall, completely out of breath. Hearing footsteps behind him and thinking it was a Quincy that had come to track him down and set him on trial, out of rage Itoku fired a powerful arrow towards the said person. This figure happened to be a gigai-disguised shinigami, running towards a Hollow report. Caught off-guard, she had a split second to react and release herself from the gigai before her spiritual body was pierced through the heart, falling to the ground dead.
Realizing what he had done, he ran over to the dead shinigami, who simply disappeared from existence. Turning to the gigai, he looked through her supplies to look for some medicine to possibly cure her. Locating a single capsule of Soul Candy, he pulled it out of her bag and popped it into the gigai’s mouth. She seemingly came back to life as the artificial soul took over, though it appeared she had lost all her memory. The shop owner, coming outside to investigate the ruckus caused by Itoku, saw the two and assumed they were homeless siblings. He invited them inside his shop/home and fed them, asking what their names were. Making up a name for the dazed individual, Itoku called her ‘Suzuran’.
From then on the shop keeper treated them as he would his own children; for the next five years he taught them the basics and advanced workings of machinery, and eventually they came to become co-shopkeepers of their new home. Itoku, fascinated by this mechanical world, began doing experiments on his Quincy bow. His weapon transformed from a bow to a unique crossbow, and soon after he began testing out new arrow firing styles in his bedroom out the window. He shared his secret with Suzuran, who was fascinated at her older brother’s abilities. At the age of nineteen, the store owner left the shop in their care and left to live in a retirement home. Itoku decided it was time to pay his old home a visit once more.
Arriving at the Quincy grounds with long, dyed white hair, he called out his crossbow and challenged the Meimon family for the rights of clan leader. Meimon Kashikoi accepted the challenge and Itoku left the grounds, leaving many wondering who he was. On the day of the challenge, Itoku appeared once again, though his challenger was now a younger girl, who declared herself a Meimon as well. It was fine with Itoku, and the challenge began. After hours of strategic battling from both sides, Itoku inevitably lost to Kioi, and she earned the right to become clan leader. Itoku respectfully bowed and simply said one sentence.
“I, Hisoka Itoku, thank you for the challenge.”
With that, he left the grounds quite satisfied, though murmurs had been sent through the crowd during his leave. For the next year he continued to train with his bow while running the shop in his guardian’s absence. Every now and then he’d stop by the Quincy grounds to see the recent developments, if nothing else. Otherwise, his life was perfect the way it was.
~Weapon Info~
Name: Kinaru
Description: Taking on an blue-green cross shape as a pendant, its form is quite different from normal Quincy bows. After years of modifying by Itoku, Kinaru now has a crossbow-like appearance. Unfortunately, the modifications have affected it to the point that it is deteriorating, and will eventually break under an overly straining situation. It is this reason that Itoku must find a successor to learn his techniques before Kinaru breaks, for if he cannot years of research will be wasted.
Attacks:
Incorporating mounds of research into the Quincy style, his arrow abilities have gone leaps and bounds above the average arrows. He has categorized his style based on three different variables that affect the composition of each arrow. These variables are Stability, Focus, and Polarity. By alternating between these three principles, the arrows are given different effects to further increase the variation of attacks a Quincy can use.
Yaichiro (First Son’s Arrow) – This arrow’s only variation is its Focus, which means where the most reiatsu is concentrated. Instead of being evenly distributed, the reiatsu is mostly focused in the tip of the arrow. This basically results in a stronger piercing effect, though the more useful way to use this effect is its lobbing trait. Instead of traveling in a typical straight line, the arrow curves downward the farther it goes, as if gravity is affecting it. This allows arrows to be sent above walls, and still hit a target possibly hiding behind it. The potential of this technique depends on the creativity of the user.
Yajiro (Second Son’s Arrow) – Yajiro’s variation is Stability, which focuses on how long an arrow can stay intact before dissipating. This arrow style purposely gives the arrow low stability, so it dissipates once making contact or possibly before that. The trick is to force a dangerously high amount of reiatsu into the arrow, so when it dissipates the arrow releases all of the reiatsu at once, creating a bomb-like effect or a blinding flash at close range.
Yasaburo (Third Son’s Arrow) – This arrow is the direct opposite of Yajiro, in terms of stability. A significant amount of concentration would create an extremely stable arrow, whose main purpose would be not to dissipate when hitting a surface. Instead, it will stay in its position until the user releases it or it is destroyed.
