Personality: Kikuro has deep doubts about his own abilities. He has doubts as to whether he was cut out for the captain position, and fears that he will make mistakes, and the people under his command will die. He tries to hide this fear under a layer of nonchalant actions. He cracks jokes, and seems like he is just having a good time, and jokes around with everyone. In battle, he is serious, and this is the only time he forgets his worries of inadequacy, and just fights his heart out.
Family: He has a brother was a soul reaper. Most of Kikuru's doubts stem from his brother's death. They were on a normal mission together, to take down a Hollow terrorizing a small town. At the time, he had been 5th seat, and his brother was 8th seat. When they confronted the hollow, the hollow's ferociousness outmatched the soul reapers. He tried to save his brother, but was wounded horribly, and pushed away, and his brother was killed. His heart was shattered, and for weeks he just stared out his window. When he went back to work, he fought harder, and soon found his spot on the top.
No other family members are known of.
Weapon: He has his zanpaku-to, Kenroukiri.

History: Kikuro was no one special in the real world. He lived an average life, was never married, and didn't have a great job. But his death was nothing but. He was a hostage in a robbery, and was the only one willing to fight back. He attacked one of the robbers, trying to take him down. In the end, Kikuro was the one who fell, with a bullet between the eyes. He went to Rukongai, where he was fascinated by Soul Reapers, whenever he could see them. He spent quite a long time just trying to live a life, almost 150 years. He seemed to age only a few. After a few years, he met his older brother, and they lived together in a small house.
Finally, his talent was found. A soul reaper felt a small spirit pressure, not big enough to be a soul reaper, but not small enough to be a normal person, and went to investigate. He found Kikuro, and tried to coax him to go to the soul reaper academy. Kikuro agreed, but only if his brother could come too. The soul reaper grudgingly agreed, and they started on their bath to becoming soul reapers.
After completing their training, they were both assigned to 5th company. His brother, who, seriously, didn't have much talent, but Kikuro wouldn't go on without him, was a lower seat, and Kikuro took 5th seat. His brother showed his talent, not through combat, but through strategies, and took 8th seat. After a few years in that seat, it happened. Kikuro's brother died. Kikuro was heart broken, and stayed in the hospital long after he recovered, not able to get over what had happened. He finally came back the 5th company, but he still had this feeling, that it was HIM that had let his brother die, and that he had no talent. So, when, through obvious talent, he was promoted to Lt. The captain saw his obvious talent for fighting, and resigned, letting him step up. Most of the captains, save for one or two favored him taking the position. He has not been in his Captain position for long, and is still unsure of his command. He also feels some other captains believe he is worse than his predescessor, whether it is true or not, and wants to prove them wrong, rather than right.

"Rise to my sword, mist, and fight! Lead on, Kenroukiri!" (Release)
-Bankai:When he enters the bankai state, the sword starts to drip to the ground, before rising in a blue mist. The sword appears like this:
Kikuro can control the mist, to form solid objects, like swords, shields, and anything else he can think of. The sword itself can morph, to go through small cracks in armor, or around a wall. The mist, once solid, can be wripped apart, but it is very tough. When Kikuro is using one of his attacks, it takes most of his concentration. He can't hold two attacks at once, but he can manage to fight with his sword, and keep one of the attacks up, as long as he has a little attention for the attack.

Mist gripper: The mist froms a claw of sorts, which grasps on to the enemy, and can either throw it, or smash it, or anything a giant hand could.
Mist crusher: The mist froms a dome around Kikuro's enemy, and it gets smaller, and smaller, and smaller, until the person inside is crushed completely, or they manage to escape, either by distracting Kikuro, or breaking through.
Mist sword, spear, axe, etc. : Without warning, the mist turns into a weapon, swinging, slashing at the enemy.
Mist hurricane: This is his most deadly move, but also the most energy consuming. He usually does not use it, unless he is at the edge of his power. All the mist swirls around him, forming a tornado of sorts. The mist whips out, lashing at anyone, if they hit, the mist swirl around the body, trying to tear the flesh from the bone.
Passive Abilities: When in Bankai, if anyone is in the mist area, which is about 50 yards in every direction of him, he is ultra sensitive to their movements, making it hard for them to sneak up on him, or attack him, without him blocking or dodging. His actual strength increases as well, making his hits more powerful.
