Name: Haku Yashashima
Alias: 'The Gray Skinned Guy'
Age: 124 (Looks 18)
Gender: Male
Faction: Shinigami
Rank: 1st Division, Lieutenant
Description:
His skin is ashen gray, and his hair is a dark silver. His eyes are yellow, and he never really smiles. He always blushes, from even the slightest wind. Also his eyes are always interesting in that they seem able to see everything, like radar.
Personality: His personality is described as ‘blank.’ Never really interested in doing anything, even as a child he was uninterested in trivial things. The only thing he ever is found doing is staring into space, or reading a book. He isn’t morbid, not depressed either. Haku just hasn’t found anything significant.
Although his ‘blankness’ can seem very drab, he is a good friend, and ‘loves’ to socialize with others. He gets along with most, and hasn’t been known to be a very sadictive fighter, often letting his opponent get the upper hand. He finds fighting uninteresting as well.
Family:
Janrei: Foster Mother- Deceased
Arro: Foster Father- Deceased
Weapon:
Name: Fukumiwarai (Laughs, Giggles)
Description: In it’s sealed form it’s a normal zanpakuto, only exception is the baby blue ribbons that are wrapped around the top of the handle.
-Sealed:
-Shikai: “Fukumiwarai, Breathe out and reveal your smile…”
In shikai, Fuku will be absorbed into Haku’s body, disappearing into him as if he was water. The only thing that shows it’s still there is that blue ribbons will wrap around Haku’s arms. Now, a mouth will appear on each of his palms, ripping through his ribbons, which will stay, but be tattered. These mouths emanate stifled laughs, as if they were keeping a secret.
Attacks:
”Fukumiwarai, Grimace…” The two mouths will frown, and then open. This will send out hundreds of black ribbons which edges razor sharp. These can be used to impale or cut the opponent, or immobilize them. The ribbons are easily cut like grass, but have no limit to length. This is his main attack.
“Fukumiwarai, Swallow….” This will make the two mouths open up as wide as they can, stretching Haku’s arms to about 8 inches in diameter. Then, red ribbons by the hundreds will come out, and try to immobilize the opponent, and swallow them whole by opening up to the size of the target. These ribbons are not sharp. The enemy can now be stored into an inescapable dimension for however long Haku can hold them there. This dimension is just a room filed with ribbons, and the enemy is not harmed. This is a capturing technique. This lasts only for an hour until Fukumiwarai spits them out. The opponent then is freed from the dimension for at least 24 hours. (The red ribbons have only the length of 35 feet to work with, and are cut easily)
”Fukumiwarai, Smile…” The mouths will smile (obviously), then they will make tens of thousands of blue ribbons come out of Haku’s hands. It is similar to Grimace, but is much more powerful, as the ribbons are much more numerous, and they are blue! (The ribbons have much more durability now…making it harder to cut. From grass to wire strength.)
Weaknesses: The closer the attacker is to Haku, the harder for all of the attacks. (exception for #2, which is the exact opposite.)
-Bankai: Has yet to learn.
Spirit Description:
Fukumiwarai
(Woo! The Chesire Cat…>.>)
It’s spirit form takes the image of a cat with a smile on it’s face. This cat can speak and has a human personality. His personality is the exact opposite of Haku’s, because it finds everything fascinating and fun. It is positive, and respects Haku. It’s favorite thing to do is play with people’s minds, and to laugh for no apparent reason.
Passive Abilities: It’s passive abilities is empathy. The spirit inside of the sword can detect the emotions of the enemy (or ally) and tell them to Haku. This gives him an upper hand, and helps him understand others.

History:
Human years
When he was born, Haku had everything. A good family, a home…a smile. He thought everything was beautiful…The birds…the air…the sky. He wanted to become things most never dreamed of. He was born in the northern part of Japan. It snowed a lot there, and it was mostly quiet in his village. He never wanted it any other way.
When he was 6, he saw spirits. He saw them, conversed with them, and touched them. They looked human, but they weren’t, as they could float. And no one else could see them. His natural curiousity and love of all things got to him, and he decided not to ignore them. He went to his mother a year later, telling her this.
She slapped him, and said he was a monster…
She told her father of this, and he locked him up in the upper story of their home. They didn’t want a freak son. What would the village think of them? That they were freaks too. They kept him up there, away from civilization. They gave him food once a day…a piece of bread, dried meat, and some water. They continued this for four more years until he escaped. He was on his way out to the village, trying to escape his parents. Unfortunately, they caught up with him, and then locked him up in the attic again.
He died about two years later, of sickness. It was the dead of winter, and the snow blew in through the roof, which was patchy by then. When he died, a single drop of snow melted on his cheek, as if a tear.
Years in the Soul Society
He was taken in by his foster family, and was raised with several other children. His hair has turned black to gray, and his eyes from blue to a grayish yellow. He was angry at his own foolishness.
He suddenly noticed his talent with spiritual energy, and made himself near-expert at mastering it. Haku had a purpose now…
He worked with his powers, and trained with them. Haku’s ‘parents’ even said he was incredibly gifted, and if he was to go to the shinigami academy, he would become a great soul reaper. Haku made this his goal, and set his life on that track.
A half-a-century or so later, his parents were found dead, and he continued to train in their honor. He made it to the academy, and went through it with flying colors.
Put into the 1st division, he was glad to see his leader was a good one, and set his goals onto becoming as strong as he. Haku’s distain was eternally with him although, and he was less interested and curious of things…His life goal: To become once more ‘alive’ inside.
He worked his way up to lieutenant. By now…he has lost his goals, and is currently trying to find his purpose…
