Clouds of sand and dust were thrown into the air as Kyoshin was consumed by the Segundo's red Cero, hurled forward by the sheer offensive force of the blast and overwhelmed by Brago's new found speed. Picking himself back up and not bothering to inspect the burn wounds the Cero made made on his back, Kyoshin grinned wildly and called back, "That's more like it!"
Laughing madly, he Sonido'd forward, pretending to perform a frontal slash before using Sonido again and appearing above and slight behind the Segundo's new form and attempting to thrust deep into his flesh. Hoping his earlier feint would throw off the monster for long enough to retreat, Kyoshin Sonido'd again, this time far up into the sky, where he could 'safely' observe Brago's actions. "Don't think I'm about to release my blade," the Commander taunted. "You'll need to earn a look at my true form."

Brago snarled as he sonidoed behind Kyoshin as he looked down on him. Brago smiles his maw making it look more like a snarl than a smile. Jale![/i] A black wall appeared directly in front of him pulling Kyoshin towards him as he closed range Brago swung his large clawed paw at Kyoshin's back

OoC: I'm assuming my first attack was NOT avoided, since you didn't reference it in your post? Just wonderin'.
IC: Still grinning from ear to ear as Brago pulled him close and attacked, Kyoshin was thrown through the sky by the force of the blow, which cracked several ribs but left him externally unaffected. Seeing the wall the Segundo had made and recognizing what it did, Kyoshin decided he'd let gravity do the work and Sonido'd towards it, the wall's pull only adding to his speed. But instead of appearing a few feet off, then attacking, the Commander didn't stop until his outstretched blade was set to run Brago through, meaning as soon as he appeared, it would not be the sound of Sonido that alerted the Segundo of Kyosin's new location, but Kyoshin's sword through his chest.

Brago snarled as he watched Kyoshin shoot forward using his own ability against him. Brago tensed as he felt the blade pierce his chest. As the blade shot out his back he grabbed for Kyoshin's sword arm attempting to hold him in place. As he did this he charged a bloody red cero in his off hand and brought it down to face level with the second in command. A disfigured grin on his face he unleashed the cero with a roar the brunt of the blast aiming directly at the head of the second in command.

Simply charging his own Cero to counter Brago's, Kyoshin released his at the same instant, causing the two to collide in a massive explosion which forced the two Arrancar apart and severely burned both of them. Luckily for Kyoshin, the explosion had not been directed solely at his head, thanks to his own Cero, and his Hierro prevented much of the damage he would have taken at that proximity to an explosion. But, enough play... The Segundo had claimed to follow the Lord of the Deep simply because he had 'power'; it was time to show him that Karzan wasn't the only powerful one in Las Noches. 200 Weapon skill = Master 8 posts +25 all stats
Reiatsu: 205+25=230
Attack: 200+25=225
Speed: 210+25=235
Weapon Skill: 240+25=265 Charging Brago again, Kyoshin forced his Reiatsu down on the beast to slow him before using Sonido to ram him with the flat of his blade and knock him off balance, then delivering another slash across the chest and retreating. Brago was stronger, but not by much, and with Kyoshin's finesse and Hierro, this was his fight, even against the Segundo's full power. "So, Brago... Still so sure of Karzan's lordship?" he taunted, prepared to defend or dodge in case he were to receive an attack as opposed to a calm reply. "Are you certain he's the one you'll be placing your bet on? Because I warn you," he continued, his voice lowering, "If there comes a day I try and oppose him, and you raise your sword to defend your dear lord... I'll strike you down without a twinge of remorse." |

Brago snarled as he landed on his back his entire body covered in borderline disfiguring burns. He hadnt yet acquired the thick skin of the arrancar and his skin was charred because of it. He struggled to his knees foam forming at the edges of his lips giving him the appearance of a rabid dog. He shifted back into his sealed form as he felt his conscious wane in and out. Through sheer will he kept himself awake the burns on his body causing him enormous pain. I will stand by my beliefs until i am shown a reason to do otherwise.[/i] Struggling to his feet his legs shaky beneath him he lifted his sword ready to continue the fight. He would fight until either he was unconscious or it killed him. I will not falter, nor will i fail in keeping to my word i will defend this realm with everything i am all the while striving to gain more and more strength.[/i]

"I see..." Kyoshin said slowly, following Brago back down to the ground and watching as he reverted to his human form. "But that's not what I asked... Your willingness to defend this realm is not your loyalty to Karzan... And what if, by defeating Karzan, I was protecting this realm?"
He was circling the Segunda like a shark now, as if he were looking for an opening to attack, when in reality he was just scared that Brago would collapse here and now from his woulds and the Commander would have to carry him back to Las Noches. If it were, say, Rose, then perhaps... No, he would definitely be willing, but another male, particularly a male he was currently at odds with... It was a less appealing prospect.
"Surely you understand," he continued, "Karzan is leading us, and all Hollowkind, to war against the Shinigami, and for what? He is a danger to this realm, not I..."

Brago's eyes dropped slowly but he continued to force himself to stand. He could feel the beginning of a second wind coming on but it was no more powerful than to keep him on his feet. Are we not creatures bred to be destruction to devour the souls of not only humans but our own kind? To destroy those that are our enemies. If not for that then we would be no greater than rabid dogs. We would be even more so at each others throats if we didnt have the common enemy that is the shinigami. Why then not go to war with them/[/i]
Brago slowly turned with the second in command watching him as best he could with his injuries. The worst of which had begun to heal slightly the bleeding having stopped. If you were to battle Karzan for the realm. I dont know whom i would follow as it is my loyalties are torn. However so long as he has the ability he does he will continue to win it.[/i] Brago looked down at the scar that crossed his chest from shoulder to hip its color slightly lighter than the skin around it. This wound was inflicted upon me by the Lord himself and to this day reminds me why power is so important in this realm. Without power you can not survive. If you were to fight i would be forced to follow the winner only for a fear of my own weakness.[/i]
He stood sheathing his sword and lifted himself to his full height. Flaring the little bit of reiatsu he had left he opened his eyes an eerie glowing seeming to light them from the back. If you give me the power i wish i will follow until someone stronger comes along or i strike you down with my own blade. I fight by my honor.[/i]

"Honor," Kyoshin scoffed, rolling his eyes. "It's just the human delusion that weakness is strength, that not doing all you can to win is 'virtuous.' Don't deceive yourself... There is no honor in battle." He stopped making his circle and turned to glare at Brago directly.
"As Hollows, we devoured souls, and as Hollows, gaining power was integral to our evolution and survival. But who's to say those are the roles we must continue to fill? Karzan himself claimed that as Arrancar we are different from Hollow, yet now he would have us play the part merely to achieve his ends... You clearly lack a basic understanding of our existence, and I lack the patience to explain it. Merely know this: If Karzan succeeds in destroying the Shinigami, and Hollows cease to be purified... This world will end." He pointed his sword at the Segundo, and concluded, "Now, make your move, or get yourself to the Medical Wing."

Brago closed his eyes letting his focus drift to within. He could feel his entire body. The blood coursing through his open veins. The knitting together of flesh as his wounds closed one by one. The energies of his own reiatsu flowing through his nervous system. He focused his mind and he could feel his senses sharpen his body flowing with the energy and he could feel his reiatsu rage around him but fully within his control. He opened his eyes and saw everything in a new light felt everything with a new hand. He wrapped his hand around the hilt of his blade and marveled at its feeling. Pulling the blade from its sheathe he shivered at the beautiful sound.
He used sonido the thump of it ringing across the sands. He appeared behind Kyoshin his mind and body perfectly calm. He stepped into a series of long swirling singing strikes. Starting with a left horizontal waist slash and spinning into a vertical left shoulder back handed slash. This continued as he stepped through his forms effortlessly. Quieter than ever before left, right, thrust, spin. On and on for a continuing battle.

Parrying each of the incoming attacks effortlessly, but still surprised by the other Arrancar's comeback, Kyoshin smiled, pleased with Brago's form while fighting. The strokes were fluid and efficient, a definite improvement from earlier, and the Arrancar's wounds had miraculously healed up, no doubt a residual form of Hollow Regeneration. But enough of this... With a swift flick of his sword, Kyoshin would have Brago fumbling with his, opening up his defense and allowing Kyoshin to try and get one good kick in, straight to the Segundo's chest. Then with his empty hand, he send a punch flying, and released a few Bala upon impact to add to the damage.

Brago felt his sword come loose from his hand and scrambled to catch it. As he tightened his grip he felt a powerful foot collide with his sternum. The bone cracking beneath the pressure he flew backwards and flipped over three times before colliding with the sands. He made sure to keep his sword arm out as not to stab himself. Skidding he flipped up onto his feet and side stepped barely the fist grazing his chest. The force of the exploding ball pushed him backwards again. He flipped and landed on his feet before dashing forward. As he closed his entire body still focused he thrust flat handed and swinging his sword around to behind him he used the momentum to deliver a vicious back hand. It was aimed for Kyoshin's temple.

Reflexively catching the incoming backhand, Kyoshin then brought up his sword and smacked the flat side against Brago's arm, not intending to shatter the bones but still hitting hard. Then charging a Cero in his mouth, he fired, still with a firm grip on Brago's arm. They had to finish this somehow... The Segunda wasn't giving up, a good sign of a solid fighter, but he also lacked strength, and needed a desire to grow stronger. He acted almost hopeless when referring to the difference in his power and Karzan's, as if it were insurmountable, a challenge he could never overcome.
"What you now lack in raw strength you make up for in finesse," Kyoshin observed calmly. "But it's not enough. You're the highest ranked Espada, and yet, you are the weakest of us. But don't let Karzan convince you that that can't change... Just as you believe you are weak, Karzan believes that he is strong, and does little to grow stronger... Weakness and Strength aren't permanent states. You must never stop climbing, never stop trying, for the weak can become strong, and the strong can be surpassed by the weak..."

Brago howled in pain as he was enveloped by the power of the cero. It charred his skin and once again he was unable to continue fighting. He listened as Kyoshin explain his feelings on power and weakness. Stepping forward Brago stumbled but kept his footing. I will grow strong to better bare the title that i hold and one day.[/i] He turned his eyes on Kyoshin the determination a fiery aura in his eyes that if real would burn Kyoshin to cinders. One day i will surpass even you and you will recognize my power and relent.[/i] He stumbled forward a few feet but caught his footing using his sword to stabilize himself.

"Oh?" Kyoshin asked, raising his eyebrows in surprise of Brago's threat but taking it in stride and obviously not considering it as a possibility. In one swift movement he Sonido'd forward a few steps and appeared with his sword at the Segundo's throat, still smirking knowingly at the weaker Arrancar. "That assumes I ever let you get that strong."
'Honestly,' Kyoshin thought to himself, 'I try to encourage this guy and take him under my wing, and he says he's gonna kill me...' He left his sword in it's position for longer than it needed to be, all the while searching with his eyes for any fear in Brago's. "Geez, know your place... Bold assertions like that are reserved for only those strong enough to make them. I could slit your throat here and now, then call some Hollows to eat your corpse... Karzan would never know, would he?" His smile twisted into something more sinister, as he hoped to make his threat as convincing as possible. Maybe Brago would beg for mercy...

Brago smiled as Kyoshin shot forward holding his sword to his throat. He had even minutely gotten under his skin. Brago's smile never faded as he stepped back from the blade. Bold assertions they may be but one day i will fulfill them.[/i] He listened with indifference to Kyoshin's threat. Death held no fear to him he would show no fear. Kyoshin had awoken a desire so strong in him that it would continue to push him to and even beyond his limits as it had today. He had discovered a latent power that he had never known and now he would nurture that power. The air was thick and war was upon them and Brago reveled in it. The opportunity to prove himself was growing. He had threatened but he knew the reality of what was said was true. He refused to give the thought credence though and continued as he was now. Cocky, overzealous, and rebellious.

Really, this guy didn't need any encouragement... Regarding Brago with a bemused glare, Kyoshin was growing steadily more irritated by the Segundo's new attitude, until finally he snapped. "And I thought we could be friends..."
Suddenly, he forced his Reiatsu down on the Espada, his sword flashed through the air, and Brago would find it embedded deep in his shoulder, his arm lying on the ground, cut clean off. Applying even more pressure so the Segunda would be forced to his hand and knees, he flicked the blood from his sword and tucked in into his belt, smirking at the other Arrancar.
"Pick that up and bring it to the medical wing, they've reattached more than that before," he said, turning his back on Brago but keeping the pressure up. "You need to be fighting fit for this war you so wanna be a part of... And as for these aspirations of yours, just remember, it's hard to surpass someone who's ascending even faster than you." He glanced back and stuck his tongue out at the Segundo in a childish taunt, before sound stepping off towards Las Noches, his voice still hanging in the wind. "Because by the time you've reached the level I'm at now... I'll be God of Hueco Mundo."

Brago snarled as he was forced to the ground by Kyoshin's reiatsu. He listened with anger as the man spoke and gritted his teeth against the body racking pain as his arm was severed. He watched the blood pour from the wound and willed himself to remain conscious. Thru sheer determination he remained the way he was and as Kyoshin left he lifted his arm and went to the medical core to have it reattached. He would remember this disgrace and one day would destroy Kyoshin for it.

20 for Kyoshin. 15 for Brago, penalized for using Hollow Regeneration. Arrancar cannot heal their wounds, unless they use Resurrecion temporary healing boost, or if their Resurrecion has Regen as an ability. 10 Extra as per this thread for Kyoshin. Extra 5 only as penalization for Brago. |
